Recording of a fast sketch done with hard (2h) pencil on rough paper. The paper is attached to a wooden board. Equipment: cheap "yoga em" microphone to minidisc, unedited.

A mobile phone recording of a jalousie flapping in a window at a library. It made an irresistible sound. The recording technique, or something else, added a glitchy extra sound. Very welcome! the sound is edited in audacity. The original sound was in mono, and i wanted some stereo effects. It’s a 6 second loop.

Process: a while ago i worked on a game and recorded several sound effects, one track after another. With the session set up the way it was, i opened all the channels and selected a section and exported it. After exporting, i threw it into paulstretch, and rendered that at the default settings. A lot of texture! yeah! even analog modular synths can create texture. . . Well not much of a surprise but i'm getting somewhere. . . !. Have to note what i have done. 1. Modulating a full wave rectifier at audio rate. Fixed modulating frequency. 2. I mix my the output of my two osc and clockmy clock divider with that and take /2 to mixer. Reverb is space hole on my zoom ms-70cdr.

This started out as a basic kick drum pattern i was experimenting with in ableton, and then devolved into me applying an obscene amount of delay, echo, reverb, compression, and filtering. And now it sounds vaguely like a helicopter :).

This is the superimposition of 2 sounds, 1/ what seems to be a distant metallic sound and 2/ what seems to be multiple impacts and touches on a plastic wrap layer. I don't exactly remember what i was going for on that one.

Weird e-piano/synth ditty, used a few times in tracks over the years. Has a peculiar moody quality. Anyway i'd probably just process the hell out of it with distortion/granulation/slicing and using it as a droney texture because it's sloppy and weird.
