Allright - today i visited the zoo in leipzig, especially the godwanaland (more information here: http://www. Zoo-leipzig. De/en/theme-worlds/gondwanaland/)its a dome where a tropical rainforest is emulated. Really great climate there - warm and moist. There are some wooden structures to climb up in the trees. There i recorded this little atmosphere. Unfortunately there are also some human voices on the record but well - it's also a part of the atmosphere. Best wishespillo.

I grabbed a metal mallet (mini sledgehammer) and dropped in on cement in various ways. Lightly and a bit harder. Recorded into my ntg3 in a garage sectioned off. Walking on the concrete area of a nature trail on a late summer evening. Heavy footsteps with hard impact on concrete. The sound of crunched acorns and sticks can occasionally be heard and a pine cone being kicked. Crickets chirp continuously in the background. Recorded in southeast usa with a sony ic recorder.

Airplane, atr 72 (at72) flying by towards airfield at 300 m altitude. Atr 72 is a plane much like the dh8d, a twin engined propeller plane. Recorded at a quiet location (maybe only some birds). Observing point: 300 m from the side of the flying route (one has to look up about 45 degrees for the plane). Speed: about 250 to 280 km/h. This is the recording as it is, recorded with zoom h2n music-capable voicerecorder. The mode of the voicerecorder was just the good old ordinary left-right stereo recording (xy) not such things as mid-side or 4 channel etc. No compression used. I may have edited out some sudden bird sounds or beeps from the camera but that's of negigible influence on the sound. There is a slight hiss from a row of trees in the distance. Feel free to use. If you're happy with the recording, it only adds to the fun i already had of it.

This morning i woke up to the sound of a city crew jackhammering concrete just outside my window. I grabbed my h2 and recorded for a while. This file is an edit of the full recording. It contains two bursts of jackhammering, one fairly short and one longer. The background noise is the sound of the air compressor. Toward the end the compressor is turned off and the last of the pressure is released by the jackhammer as it sort of "putters out". This last bit is a bit unique.

I live in a block. And at 7:30, some men begun removing a concrete floor of a balcony with a jackhammer. I held the recorded from another balcony around 15 meters away hoping i win't get too much wind in my mics. This guarantees you to be awake in seconds. So i'm sharing the love. Same as yesterday, but i've added the sound when the huge vehicle extends its two enormous landing gears. I have a 800 watt sub which i can only use when cats and wife aren't in the house.
