We where located in the news media viewing area called nasa causeway. This as close as anyone can get to the launch. This was the maiden voyage of the orion spacecraft, and one of the very few delta iv heavy launches. In the beginning of recording you hear nasa announcer giving countdown into loud speakers, when you reach around the 1min 50 sec mark the true booster engine sound overtakes the pa system. We are very grateful for the opportunity to share this, most powerful man made machine with 2. 1million pounds of thrust to get millions of pounds into space.

A horse is plowing. Close-up focalise on the hooves and the metal of the tool. A man says "hi" for the horse to go, and "hao" at the end for the horse to stop. Nice natural rythme. Recorded with schoeps cmc6mk41recorded on sounddevice mixpre6wave mono 24 bits 48khzfrance, june 2022.

I made this recording by using a metal shovel and ramming it into the icy snow. The snow has been around for a couple months now and has been rained on and turned to tiny ice crystals. It sounds like it could be sand, grainy dirt or rock dust.

A short walk cycle on a concrete sidewalk with some ambient wind in the background - i really need a windshield. Loops seamlessly. Recorded with a roland edirol r-09hr and edited in audacity. If you use this sample, please tell me what you did with it below! links are nice too.

Walking a dog in a small forest park in a nice summer warm dry weather. Mainly you can hear footsteps, birds, sometimes the (midsized) dog going by and breathing. Rarely cars in distance. Very calm quiet track, the dog doesnt bark. Its more relaxing.

This is a combination of a bunch of sounds to create a very close feeling digging and tearing through earth sound. Thick roots being torn, low rumble, a lot of layers. Used for a video of hands moving through dirt, digging, forming, etc.

A chair i moved over a stone tiled floor. Keeps getting heavier and noisier, quite eery in the end. Recorded with sony tcd d10 pro ii & sennheiser md21u.

An unintended recording of me and a passerby walking through very thick and wet mud on the walthamstow marshes. I was out testing new gear and couldn't remove the mics from my rucksack strap to avoid picking up the rustle of my clothing or my occasional heavy breathing. This recording was made using a sound devices mixpre6ii and a stereo pair of fel em172 mics. Low cut on the sd which in basic mode is 80hz (i think). There is no processing to this recording other than to ‘normalize’ the levels. I do not require any credit or attribution. An elevator ride to second floor (to outside) in an istanbul metro (subway). Noise cancelled with adobe audition.

Walking (hiking boots) on a gravel and ground path. A distant torrent streams in the background, birds chirping, sounds of dry leaves, crunching twigs and gravel under the soles. Perfect for calm/relaxing nature background, 1st party vr experiences (if you do that let me know, i'd like to try it!) etc. Recorded with a zoom h1n held in hand while walking nd pointed towards the feet.

Walking on ground littered with sticks and dead leaves. A satisfying crunch each time.

Stomping on a big cement ground as hard a possible with a contact mic attached to the ground. The contact mic provides lots of bass so you can use this for punches, kicks, impacts, anything that can use a sweeter for impacts. I handmade my contact mic and recorded that into a h5. Heavy steps through a ground with fallen leaves.

Six footsteps on grass with hiking boots. Each footstep is split by ~250 ms of silence. I layered a thud sound and me moving grass to make it. Recorded with a h4n 06/06/2020. Edited in audacity.

Walk on dry grass.

Dropped two contact mics at the surface of an anthill. Recorded with jrf contact mics in serrinha do alambari, state of sao paulo, brazil in sound devices mixpre-6 96khz 24 bits.

Cassette tape noise recorded by playing empty cassette. Route thru a summit audio 2ba-221. No processing. Played on a tandberg tcd 310. Walking on grass. In my opinion could be also used for dirt, that why it's called "soil". You should play with volume on this one. Background noise removed as usual. Enjoy!.

A dinosaur falls to the ground. Heavy impact. Made with dufflebag, laundry bag, leather couch cushions and a plastic bag. Second impact has a slightly different eq.
