I dropped a stone brick dropped on other bricks.

Insects soundscape in a rocky landscape. 35°c, 3pm, stony hill. Flys and different kind of crickets. Around biskra, algeria, spring 2014. Recorded with schoeps ab ortf in albert cinelarecorded on sounddevice 744t,48khz, 16 bitssmooth noise reduced by isotope.

I created this sound by taking two large cobblestone blocks and hit one against the other. Good for sound design. There is a little rattle on some of the heavier hits, it couldn't be helped since the block is so heavy.

Here is some recording done in my back garden on the gravel. Equipment used:zoom h4n pro - inbuilt micrx6 spectral denoise. Some eq used to lower bird calls and make gravel sounds richer. Have limited to -3db.

This sound can be used for free with no credits, though i'd appreciate credit.

Short brushes with my hand on small rocks. Recording in the city is hard but i found a small canyon made of rocks in a park which helped block out traffic noise. Mediterranean sea recorded on a breakwater shore in the beach of gandía in an afternoon of a day of november with a calm weather. You can hear the sound of the sea with some waves crashing on the breakwater.

I made this sound in september 2003 - i used a fairlight mfx 3 - a direct descendant of the first sampler ever made - and the best ever to this day editing software for ground breaking features and functions. Clip based eq and level which you could cross fade between made the use of automation almost redundant in precise to picture editing. It also had a unique alternative jog function. You could loop 1 frame or so as you chose of sound at the orginal pitch which made it easy to find transient points. I then 'grind' the play head over a solo'd sound and play this into a reverb unit. I have many of these accidental experiments and one day i shall make the fairlight pack!. Until then enjoy this alien - from mars with love :). Ps - you can do this experiment today! i found that i can use sound flower as an out put in audio finder. If you open a sample in the sample editor - you can recreate the fairlight jpg by grabbing the playback head in play. You may then route sound flower thru an input channel and get some unusual effects that are difficult to achieve. . If you can improve on this method let me know!.

A while back, yoshitoshi was having a remix contest for sultan featuring zara taylor - "no why", and for my submission i wanted to try adding a live interpretation/cover of the guitar loop. So i asked my dad but he got way too carried away in all kinds of directions i didn't want to take. But this might be useful to someone.

This sound is made to sound like water dropping on a stone floor. It was actually made by stirring water around with a stick and hitting a table with the same stick.

Mapex birch kit, akg d112's on the beater, and at the edge of the outside hole, both slightly off axis, with front skin off, and blanket over the kick !! also used the overhead sound when i bounced this down, so it has some sustain !! enjoy !!!.
