What do you do if you enjoy recording the natural sounds of our planet and you can't sleep at 2:00 in the morning on a hot august evening?. You go out and record the insect chorus of course!. Recording made with the zoom h4n and the internal microphones. .

My mother was cooking some meatballs so i took the chance to record the frying noise. Recorded with zoom h4.

A slow, fingerpicked chord progression on a 6-string guitar. I recorded this using my zoom h4n recorder and some external, stereo microphones. The microphones were the samson c0-2 and i had them mounted on two separatemicrophone stands: 1 was pointed at my left hand on the fret board to hopefully get the finger-squeaks, and the other microphone was pointed right above the sound-hole about 3 inches above the opening. This was a battery-powered train car running in circles on its plastic track. Is the sound pleasant? no. Did i hold my zoom h4n upside-down in the center of the circuit so the engine slowly pans from ear to ear? absolutely.

Helicopter taking off from ground level, beside a brick building. The rotors spin increasingly faster, the engine revs, and the bird takes off into the distance, quickly fading. A very pure recording with the exception of one voice early on.

I used the same sound as the slower machine gun burst to make a faster one. Can be easily looped.
