Blending a smoothie. Blender goes on and off a couple of times to help churn frozen strawberries. During the blending, there is the sound of a spoon tapping on the pitcher. Recorded in mono mp3 mode on a zoom h2. The recorder then created a 2-track file (and i assume both tracks are identical). Compressed and normalized to -3. 1 db in audacity. Exported in flac mode.

A microwave oven. The door is opened, the oven is loaded and switched on for 1 minute. The microwave bell pings.

Stereo ambience of a medium sized kitchen in an open apartment. Fridge hum turns off during recording. Recorded in m/s with a schoeps cmit and cmc6 w/ mk8 capsule on a sound devices 633. Decoded to l/r stereo.

Microwave buttons pushed 4 times and cycle starting. Cycle is a low hum. Higher pitch, clear, consistent. Recorded on zoom h4, indoors.

Braun model 3105 coffee maker. Multiple takes of picking up and replacing the glass carafe on the hotplate. The left channel is a sennheiser mkh-416 and the right channel is an akg c414 b-uls, both into a john hardy m-1 preamp into pro tools. Each mic has a slightly different recording position. The akg has more of a "room" perspective whereas the sennheiser gives a close up, detailed perspective.
