Recorded in october 2008, at the georgetown loop railway, near silver plume (rocky mountains), colorado, usa. Recorded with a zoom h2 in 2-channel surround mode, without a windshield. File has not been modified, only cut short from a longer recording.

Tabla is percussion instrument with two drums 'daya' and 'baya'. Only the 'daya' drum is usually tuned. For checking the tuning the 'na' bol is played. Recorded using samson-go portable condenser mike at home. Placing the mike too close to tabla was clipping the sound and if placed away, it was not picking the extended resonance. Hence the mike was moved closer after attack, hence the apparent increase in amplitude and some doppler effect is seen.

I am recording this drum's resonance mainly for an ebay post. . . . Not sure if i can embed on ebay. I like the drum but i have too many drums. 1 drum appears to be a lone tabla drum longing for a partner and a drummer who knows how to play it the :"right way". . . Here i appear to be falling into mostly simplistic rhythms that are intermittant. . . . Peace. . . .
