This is the sound-signature of many of the problems with digital audio equipment, a source sound of now-unidentifiable character was mangled using a selection of iterative granular resampling, timestretching and recombination techniques, almost all of which produce noisy artefacts, intermodulation artefacts and a particuarly weird sort of very noisy geomtetric comb filtering.

Digital noise made from raw binary files extracted from hdd with hexplorer using raw import function in audacity. Files were 4, each made from 200 sectors. I modified each sound using filters and joined them together to make longer looping example. Good to use in a game or 3d video animation as background ambient noise. Audacity and hexplorer are freeware and you can make similar job with them. . .

A useful loop for any kind of constantly cycling numbers/data.

Siren effect with digitally controlled frequency sweep using 96khz crystal controlled oscillator, 8-bit binary counters set up as a variable frequency divider. I added slight reverb.

Arranged and rendered to 32-bit float wav @ 192khz using lmms (linux multimedia studio) - electronic music production program. Divided into separate files and converted to 24-bit flac using audacity. Loud crazy noise i found on my computer. Most probably generated from internal feedback. Has some interesting parts that might be able to be harvested.

Some guy sayng hundred forty nine. This was recorded with a zoom h4n, 41000 hz 24bit, with no further processing of any kind.

I tried to remake this sound:. Https://freesound. Org/s/135110/. This time in caustic using modular synth, hpf of course, phaser & flanger. I'll probably try to make it again in 8 years. Very different but still similar.

This is the sound of the mobile when you press numbers for phoning someone.

Results from running randomly-generated neural networks (all weights in neuron connections start random and then slowly drift when generating). Although sample rates used are 44. 1 and 48 khz, sounds pretty lo-fi. The reason could be input compression needed for network to actually work. Each sound channel is an output from two separate neurons in the network. Each sample in this pack is generated by a separate network, as they wasn’t saved anywhere after they produce a thing. Global parameters (output compression, neuron count, drift rate etc. ) aren’t the same from sample to sample, too.
