Captured at the brand-new castletown branch of sainsbury's. Another of those mindless public safety announcements played at either end of a moving walkway. This time, members of the public are asked to be prepared to get their trolley off the walkway. In surveying the scene, it occurred to me that there was also no other choice! one could, i suppose, deliberately come to a screeching halt immediately after disembarking and my late mother-in-law would have been somebody who did just that! so, i suppose there's some point this after all!.

This is a completely custom kick i made from scratch using a drum synthesizer and also mixed and edited with a waves puigtech eq modeled after the famous pultec eq and a waves puigchild compressor modeled after the famous $30,000 fairchild compressor. The sample rate is 24 bit/48k and a headroom of -6 or 3db i cant quite remember but nonetheless more than under clipping. Walking in 5cm snow with boots.

Since snow has been so widespread, thought it would be a good time to stockpile the beautiful crunchy, crisp sound of walking on it. This was recorded the evening of february 15, 2021 using my marantz pmd661 audio recorder and the bulletproof, dynamic beyerdynamic me58 microphone. The temperature was 2 degrees farenheit.

Cut up a recording of an old grandfather clock, removed the noisy whirring in between ticks, and added long dreamy reverb that grows a bit towards the end. .

A broken space heater that clicks. Recorded with a zoom h5 using the onboard xyh-5 capsule to capture a stereo signal and a sennheiser k6/me66 for a mono track. Very minor post processing to balance the stereo/mono and pull the subs out of the side channels.
