Experimental recording idea i had in summer 2017, i buried two contact microphones half a foot deep in a rock beach and captured the noise ambience picked up in the rocks, as well as the tide coming over the microphones eventually. Mediterranean sea recorded on a breakwater shore in the beach of gandía in an afternoon of a day of november with a calm weather. You can hear the sound of the sea with some waves crashing on the breakwater.
Stereo recording of waves on a sandy beach, recorded from the shelter provided by some rocks, with a faint engine hum from a large ship in the far background. Tide was about one hour after turn and coming in. Recorded across an estuary. Average level about -18db. Recorded using h2 zoom with front microphones (90 degree). 6db of amplification in audacity.
This is a short extract from a sound installation 'the ocean misses a beat' commissioned for a festival in plymouth, uk and subsequently presented in chester as part of the 'up the wall' festival. It features recordings of the sea i made at heybrook bay in devon.

Fieldrecording on a winter afternoon at the baltic sea. Used equipment-zoom f4, 2x tritonaudiofethead phantom, 2x akg p420, windprotection (blimp). The first microphone stood on the beach (eighth character), the second microphone hung two meters higher than the beach (spherical character).
