This is an underwater ambient loop i created for a game-jam project. Since the project was nothing but good fun, i have uploaded some of the more useful sounds to freesound. Org for everyone to use. The sound was created by layering hydrophone recordings with filtered noise.

This is an under water recording of some bubbles. I filled up a laundry bin with water, stuck a sennheisser md21 (dynamic omnimic) wrapped in a plastic bag in there (under the water level). I pumped bubbles from the bottom of the bin through a bicycle pump. Gear used: md21 -> m-audio dmp3 -> terratec ewx2496. Completely unprocessed, 2:43 of 24 bit 44khz wave. A 10 min recording made at a beach resort on the fiji coral coast in july 06, recorded on a pd-170 camcorder with 2 sennheiser mkh416 in crossed stereo configuration. Original is 48khz, 16 bit. I have a higher bit rate version if you like this one.
I synthesized this by making white noise, then applying a bandpass filter, and finally applying a wah-wah filter thing at a very low freq. In audacity. .
Recorded with a zoom h1 n. It's a high tide and the waves are slowly lapping at the kelp strewn sandy beach. Recorded at rathtrevor beach, vancouver island, on the salish sea. There was a dog barking in the far distance, edited out. I also edited the ending with a fade out.
