This is the sound of a viking electric lawnmower in action; mowing a piece of lawn. Today i got my audio equipment. This is my first contribution. When i was walking around today to catch sounds, i met a man who was mowing his lawn. I asked him if i could record him while he was mowing his lawn. He agreed and i was allowed to record him mowing. It's a viking electric lawnmower. Description: a man mows the lawn with an electric lawnmower. He drives the lawn mower over a piece of path to the meadow, mows and drives the lawn mower back. At the beginning of the recording, there is a short question asked if he should start now, which i confirm. The recording is unedited. Recording device: zoom h5microphone: xyh-5date: 31 july 2020place: schwanewede, northern germanytime: afternoon, about 4 pm. Weather: 25 °c, sunshine. Hardly any clouds in the sky. My neighbor mows a cul-de-sac with a riding lawn mower for about 2 minutes and drives away. As the mower drives away a car honks and some distant shouting can be heard. Recorded with a zoom h4n pro placed on the windowsill facing the cul-de-sac.

I wanted to record the sound of a keyring - or rather the keys strapped to it - make while in mid-air. There are the keys audible, recorded hitting the stack of hay (soft landing) and air blowign into the mics while the recordied has high velocity. I was throwing my recorer with my left hand, while simultaneously throwing my keyring with my right hand. The throw was vertical and the landing zone was a pile of hay. I thing there are some interesting sound here, i'm uploading it unedited to make it possible to cut out whatever you like. Recorded with a flying zoom h2 at 48khz/24-bit, edited, nomalized and converted to flac using audacity.

At closest to target it was recorded from about 33ft away from mower at farthest range about 40ft away. If you wanted the mower to be heard from an inside area you could add a high pass filter to the recording. Please note this wasn't taken with the average household mower it was taken with a heavy duty lawn mower used for cutting large areas of grass so it doesn’t have the same sound as a regular mower.
