This is a piece of an announcement made in japanese in the small town of kawaguchiko near mt. Fuji in japan, about a month after the earthquake and tsunami of 2011. Independence day fireworks display, recorded july 2004 in tewksbury, ma. The noise floor on this one is not so good, but there are a fair number of very nice explosions, pops, and whistles. The sound of quad cycles being ridden in the distance is also audible, particularly loudly starting around the 15:00 mark.

Recorded in january 2011 waiting for the shinkansen (bullet train) to tokyo at koriyama station in fukushima, japan. Recorded with a zoom h2 in 2-channel surround mode, with a windshield. File has not been modified, just cut short from a longer recording. There are two shinkansen in the recording: one arrives and leaves at the adjacent platform, and one arrives on the immediate platform.

This was recorded in a university building in melbourne in 2018. It was after hours, in the evening, so the building was mostly empty. I was in a hallway that had lots of hard surfaces including linoleum floors. I could hear a baby crying in a room that was several metres away. This recording is mostly reverb and its very atmospheric. I just recorded it with my smartphone, but it was such a great sound that i had to get it!.
