Had a small coughing fit.

First i used an ipad to make a video recording (with sound) of a glass of sparkling water. Then i played that back on the ipad and recorded it with a zoom h2. Cleaned it all up in audacity.

I was trying to record some "wind" noises with my mouth by blowing at the mics, when i came to close and my beard started to crackle against them. I liked the soudn and i actually used it later on some stuff - it's not a great quality recordning but it might interest someone. Sorry for the "windy" sounds at the start. . . I produced this strangely satisfying sound by dropping a watermelon-shaped canning tomato into a dishpan full of water. Have to get that just about right to get this result. For my purposes i needed to repeat it, but you can do that. It's unlikely that two objects tossed into liquid will sound exactly the same, but it's possible to modify one of the two "ploops" by changing amplification, pitch and even to shorten the waveform to make them sound different. If you need that done let me know.

I recorded a pretty gnarly storm on 8/25 around 1:30 am. The cars are off the road but you still get that city reflection. I placed two rode nt5s in my living room windows and set them to record for about nine minutes. It wouldn't be great for an outdoor situation but it's a good "thunderstorm from an apartment in the city" recording. It's in 16 44. 1, stereo. Use it for whatever you want, no credit needed. -jp.
