A piece of construction equipment moving earth. The vehicle runs on tracks, which you can hear along with the squeaky pulleys. Also the warning beeps as the machine backs up.
Here are some recordings of some of my basic woodwork tools. I'll try and get better recordings in the future but i share a workshop and it is rarely quiet enough to get good recordings. All recordings are me working on a piece of 25mm thick walnut timber. Listening back has made me realise that all of these tools need sharpening!! :). The recordings are as follows:. 00:00 - 00:26stanley block plane fine shaving the edge of the timber. 00:28 - 01:33stanley 5m retractable tape measure, metal blade and plastic casing. Tape being wound out and drawn back in. 01:36 - 03:30milwaukee m12 battery drill. Trigger being pressed, chuck opening and closing and bits being changed. Drilling into timber. Driving screws into the timber and removing them again. 03:32 - 05:14lie nielsen crosscut tenon saw cutting across the grain of the timber. 05:17 - endgeneral purpose wood saw 'ripping' along the grain of the timber. This recording was made using a sound devices mixpre6ii and a stereo pair of fel em172 mics. Low cut on the sd which in basic mode is 80hz (i think). There is no processing to this recording other than to ‘normalize’ the levels. I do not require any credit or attribution. If any of these sounds have been of help, and you are feeling charitable, please do consider donating to freesound to help keep the site running (a link is also on the home page). Any donations are greatly appreciated!.
This is a sound effect for someone sawing wood in half. Recorded using a zoom h1 and rode videomic pro r. The sound was recorded by ruffling the dead cat on the mic to the rhythm of a saw.
Recording of a nail being hit into a wood board with a club hammer. Loud hard repetitive sound post-processed to add slight compression to the audio. Recorded inside a workshop using a zoom h6 recorder.
Fork truck beep. Sound recorded with a zoom h4n pro and a rycote mini wind screen. Bip d’un chariot élévateur. Son enregistré avec un zoom h4n pro et une bonnette rycote mini wind screen. Small pneumatic hammer working inside a big train station (salzburg) hammering the stone floor. A bit from the distance. (mono). Kleiner presslufthammer, der den steinboden im bahnhof salzburg aufstemmt.
Jackhammer in a series of pulses from a reasonable distance, so the recording is clear and with decent but not overpowering volume. Summer songbirds in the background fill between the pulses and after the jackhammering stops.
The piledriver recorded from more distance than the first recording, with some area traffic noise and lacking any distinct echo materials at the point of capture. (sample shortened due to windy conditions. ).
Sound of a jackhammer being operated at a construction site, taken from across the street. Quite loud, though there is also a large amount of street noise in the recording.
Walking through the streets of central gothenburg to record urban sounds, i happen across a construction site. I walk past it and onwards to record footsteps on the pavement and eventually some light traffic and trams. Recorded with iaudio x5 internal mic.
