Lighting a safety match. No other effect apart from using the zoom h6's xy mic at 90 degrees and a bit of trimming and the tinest amount of volume automation to rise the end part to an audible gain. Possible applications could be used for a character who smokes cigarettes, foley for a ignition sound effect or literally lighting a safety match.

Bowling: here we have the sounds of a bowling ball hitting the pins in a bowling alley. Not only do you hear the loud crash when contact is being made by the ball but you also hear the pins scatter. There are different variations of the ball hitting the pins to accommodate the user's preferences. They vary in tempo and amplitude. Recorded with the zoom h6, rode ntg. Great to add some fun to a soundscape.

In this audio i recorded my handling of a match box and my various attempts of lighting a match.

Hitting a half-full insulated klean kanteen water bottle with various objects. First short set with my fingertip, second set with the side of my varnished tin starbucks coffee mug and the third set with the side of a standard 3/8" plastic sharpie marker. According to my synth, this is extremely close to, if not spot-on with a d-natural (294 hz).

Striking a silver goblet then making it sing by rolling a wooden dowel around its edge. The first part is the top of the goblet (lower pitch) and the 2nd part is the bottom base (higher pitch). Followed by various strikes and rolls. Microphone: iphone 3g.

Smashing a cantaloupe with a golf club- makes a sound similar to smacking a skull. Some slight splatter sounds in a few of the strikes.

Today begins a week of immense global protests and strikes to bring attention to the climate issue. Of course, i attended the guildford protest, participated and documented it here with some of its vocal chanting from a crowd of several hundred. With the aim of spreading news of this strike as much as possible, i am releasing this sound to the public domain. These strikes deserve to be heard. They need to be heard. . This and several others you'll not get, made me wonder if i shouldn't be charging for this. Can't believe some people pay to have it done. Doubled leather belt. I wanted just one, and only for the sound effect. Can't smack your own bottom. The zip-tie was in place before i had a chance to object. Paybacks are hell.

Striking matches / lighting matches close to mic'. 16 bit, 44,1 khz, mono source & output. No envelope automation, no compression, nothing except a slight hp at 26 hz. Clipping did occur on some transients for a few milliseconds (0-4 ms) on the strike due to mic' proximity (3 inches). Mic' used: samson c01 usb.
