The sound of a construction worker operating a concrete road saw on a rainy day is heard in this recording. The recording begins with the saw already in operation, then is shut off and shortly restarted. He makes a couple of passes on the section of road he is working on and turns the machine off. A nearby siren is also heard at the end, so the shutdown at the head can be used as an alternative. Gear: zoom h6, xyh-6 x/y capsule (120 degree stereo image), rycote windjammer. Couple of minutes of soccer/crowd noise at a feyenoord game, the kuip stadium in rotterdam, netherlands. This was mixed for t. V. Broadcast and quickly recorded to the line in of my macbook. Neumann km 140 mics for crowd noise, sennheiser 416p's at the pitch, into a lawo mc66/2 desk. Stereo, dolby pro logic ii encoded.

Wide-angle soundscape of trovill beach on the swedish island of sandhamn on the eastern outskirts of the stockholm archipelago. It is a partly cloudy, windy day and a fair amount of people are at the beach, few are bathing. Some boats and ships pass by in the mid distance. The recorder is situated in a small wood some 40m or so from the shore, facing the beach and capturing a wide angle. Recorded with a zoom h2n. These are the rear channels of a 4ch surround recording. Mics set to 120° dispersion.

Stereo field recording of the trubarjeva cesta in ljubljana/slovenia. It is a fine early summer evening and lots of tourists and locals are underway. The recorder is located at a busy intersection with lots of pedestrian and motor traffic. Around 2 mins into the recording, a motor scooter noisily passes by the recorder. I recorded this from a balcony (5th floor) in the middle of a summer day (end of july), using a mid/side set (mkh30 + c480 b-uls/ck62-df omni) into sound devices mixpre3. Not any processing has been added, except a plain m/s to x/y stereo conversion and low-cut filter (30hz). This is a generally quiet atmo, sometimes light wind comes in, some seagulls and other birds are there at times, some construction work happens etc. The traffic noise is present, but in the distant way. Feel free to use it in any of your productions. Not for resale.

The first sunday of may is the international dawn chorus day! on the 3rd of may 2020, artists and field recordists in different parts of the world recorded the birdsong around the time of the local sunrise, and then the sounds were put together in a synchronous collage. The sounds you hear in the recording at the same time happened at the same time, but not necessarily in the same place: for example, you can hear owls calling in the spanish night at almost the same time as kookaburras in the australian day.
