I tied an olympus ls-5 recorder high in a tree and left it for half an hour. There are still quite a few people around and you can hear their voices alongside the birds which are getting ready to roost.

Then, at 1:48, there was a huge lightning strike nearby which produced a very loud burst of thunder. Captured from my front porch during a summer storm. Recorded on a windows x8 phone and left as-is. A simple arpeggiated chord. Spaghetti-western guitar is a set of distorted, semi-ambient electric guitar. It was made with stereotypical cowboy themes in mind, but could be adapted for other uses. All sounds are public domain and do not require credit, but i'd love to hear about how you use them!.

Opening a sliding door to a lot of chatty morning birds. You can hear a some fire truck sirens far in the background. After a few minutes, door is closed, i let you hear the difference, and we’re done. Recorded with a tascam dr-05 at about 5 am. Converted to mp3 with command “lame --preset extreme” since it’s rather huge. Not normalized; lame reports a playback gain of +21 db.

A flanged version of the phrase, "is your kidney roundup ready?", with the words chopped and flanged. The effect is somewhat suggestive of a rope whirring through the air, like a lasso.
