A classic movie punch sound recreated by hitting a leather car seat with a cricket bat. Recorded using a rode k2 tube mic and a schoeps cmc6, driving the preamps hard and compressing the input, then heavily compressing a number of takes using analog-emulation plugins (including a fairchild 660) and running the mix through waves maxxbass. Then limiting some more and finally adding the swoosh of a riding crop and a non-linear reverb noise tail.

Crowd conversations jumbled together on a packed trolley car in new orleans at afternoon rush hour. The hum of the trolley motor as well as passing traffic sounds.

An early 2015 recording of the ambience at new york sub hub, a sandwich restaurant just off the campus of the university of north texas in denton, texas. This restaurant is to be closed in the spring of 2021.

Caught this ambulance driving a few blocks away from me as i was walking to the subway from washington square park. Recorded using my phone.

Location: tijuana, mexicotime: december, 2016. Riding a route taxi through the streets of tijuana. It's the evening on a weekday and people are coming off work. An ambulance cruises by. Passengers are silent most of the ride until minute 4:40 when the driver stops on a busy boarding zone. Coins jingle when people pay the driver. The door slides open and you can hear people on the street chatting, while passengers get off and new ones come in.

A diesel train flushing out the condensation from a particular valve, as i am told. Sounds like electricity sparking or something. It was quite loud, my gain was set extremely low, enough that i didn't pick up any of the road traffic with cars passing a few feet behind me. I created this sound with additive synthesis ,using different eg`s and five different sounds for low ,middle and high harmonics. The pluck noise is a filtered noise at the resonance frequency of 523 hz.
