This is about 2 minutes total. It is of an approaching long freight train passing about 100 yards away in it's entirety. Train was doing around 45 mph. There are no other background sounds, no traffic, no crossing alarms, no street noise, no airplanes, no people, etc. There are three diesel electric locomotives in the front, then about a mile of freight cars, then one diesel electric locomotive "pushing" from the rear (it almost sounds like a jet engine!). Recorded alongside the tracks in open west texas desert! recorded using a panasonic dvx200 with a rode shotgun mic & deadcat. Audio extracted from the video file.

This was recorded on march 19, 2019 as i was waiting to board an amtrak train at pen station. Includes announcements, luggage and people. Recorded with a shure mv88 attached to an iphone 8.

Amtrak cardinal route eastbound (chicago to new york). Recorded east of montgomery, wv, traveling approximately 40-50 mph. Recorded with josephson c700s (output is soundfield w, x, and y channels) at 96 khz, 24 bit. Encoded to stereo nos with harpex. Train on a high railroad trestle accelerating. Spitting, creaking and squeaky metal sounds as the engines labor.

Was out for a walk next to a bridge while a train went by, the rattle of the empty cargo containers contrasted rhythmically with the ones that were full. This is a loop so you can have an infinite train roll through your soundscape. Recorded on my cellphone and cleaned up in reaper. Production-now. Com - shout-outs welcome.
