Studio recordings of handling a small metal mechanical device for foley purposes. Originally used to foley handling sounds of a tattoo machine, but could also be used for guns, surgical instruments etc. Recorded with an at-4047/sv large-diaphragm condenser mic. In this clip, i am handling the device, producing diverse clinks and ratcheting sounds.

This lovely little toy piano has been a member of my parent’s home since before i can remember. These days it falls under the jurisdiction of my 4-year old niece, who was ever so kind as to allow me to record it!. It has a fabulous tinkling and out-of-tune carnival sort of sound, and i wanted to capture that before the piano was destroyed altogether. Recorded originally in m-s at the lake of "kloental", switzerland. Stones of various sizes, sliding, falling or bouncing on rocks. Dry sound, no ambient noise.

This is a clip of various engine sounds recorded on my 2003 subaru impreza wrx with a 3" turbo-back exhaust system. The audio starts with the engine at idle and includes a few engine revs at different rpms. You can hear some turbo whistling and also some rattling of god-knows-what parts. It's a little muffled (kind of a muddy sound), but could be used as part of an action sequence or with a music track laid over. Recorded in an almost empty train on a fairly even route section at a quite constant velocity, sitting in a cabin for six passengers with five empty seats, compartment door closed at around 8 pm. Recorded with a portable stereo recorder (zoom) set to 96000 hz and 24 bit.

This field-recording was taken inside of a high-capacity wagon of the ic-train 2374 starting at the station darmstadt in direction of frankfurt. The wagon was rather empty, but two passengers can often be heard talking during this recording. Many different sounds and noises are heard during different driving situations of the train. The recording was started on 4th january 2023 at 10:23 cet shortly before the closing of the doors and the departure of the train in darmstadt. At 01:16 an announcement can be heard. The recording was made with the mid-prize smartphone huawei p10 lite.

The notes used in this performance should be the same notes used in the original game's sound (unconfirmed) detuned a few cents upward. A glissando that's perfect for sliding in and out (both sliding in and out for each sample have been added). A lot of cartoons use this particular sound. This sound was recorded by a very talented violin player that i know personally, and edited in audacity. I used the 'dolby on' app on my iphone to record it.
