A short journey on london overground train from dalston to highbury and islington passing through canonbury. Recording includes ticket barrier noises, doors opening and closing and general announcements. This recording was made using a sound devices mixpre6ii and a stereo pair of fel em172 mics. Low cut on the sd which in basic mode is 80hz (i think). There is some processing to this recording to ‘normalize’ the levels and light eq-ing. I do not require any credit or attribution. Recording #1 of my own shirt flapped, snapped, whipped, waved etc. If you pitch-shift this down (or slow it down) it can sound (imo) indistinguishable from, say, a large flag or large sail being pulled and snapped in the wind. This had recording noise removed, and silences auto-trimmed, with auto-regions from that trimming generated and saved in the file (handy for selecting a sound region easily or exporting regions as a lot of separate sounds). I request but do not demand attribution to me for use of this sound.

A long recording on board the "green car" of the jr tokkaido line from atami to shinagawa. A "green car" refers to the first class cars on some long distance local trains. The ride is smoother and the cars are generally much quieter. The cars are generally empty but, this was at the end of a 3 day weekend, so the car was actually quite active (i'll try to get a quiet one soon). You can hear the ticket attendant, the conductor's announcements, station arrivals and departures, passengers getting on and off the train and settling in and having conversations. At some point you can hear the guy behind me eating senbei (a crunchy japanese rice cracker) - that's a little annoying, but there might be some usable bits in there if you're good at editing backgrounds. But like i said, i'll try to get a less busy train next time. Recorded with 2 stereo mic pairs and unedited.

A riding experience. A train leaves one station and reaches another. The original wav file sounds thick and heavy, i mean, sounds good, but the size becomes big as well. The outline of the sound is well described at mp3, too.
