A quick gunshot i made in logic pro 9 out of a few sound effects and a recording of a snap of my carabiner that i recored off my iphone.

This was made as more of a sifi air rifle rather than a "laser" pistol. However it can still work both ways. The track has three sound effects. They all have a "similar" sound but some very in pitch or tempo.

24/48 mono recording of the sound of a fnx. 45 acp being shot slowly in a gun range 9 times. During the recording there are a couple shell casing that can be heard hitting the floor. There is a long break after the final shot before the target is recalled on the automatic rail system. There is a slightly echo-y natural reverberation to the gun range. Other than that the recording is very quiet in-between shots and each shot sound was allowed to dissipate before another round was fired.

I love the crackle as the shot breaks the sound barrier. Could be slowed down to make it sound like a larger weapon, or maybe even used as an impulse response. This is an attempt to create the sound of a high velocity handgun, the five seven by twenty eight milimeter, in which the first shot is normal, just edited for the echo associated with a larger caliber handgun, and second shot is editied slightly to mimick the effect of a "silencer".
