Nyc subway train arrives, doors open, announcement of direction, doors close, train departs. I stood on the platform at the montrose l station with a sony minidisc and recorded the entire process of a nyc subway train coming and going. Low noise, though you may wish to use a high-pass filter as there is so much bass in the material.

This was recorded on march 19, 2019 as i was waiting to board an amtrak train at pen station. Includes announcements, luggage and people. Recorded with a shure mv88 attached to an iphone 8.

Was out for a walk next to a bridge while a train went by, the rattle of the empty cargo containers contrasted rhythmically with the ones that were full. This is a loop so you can have an infinite train roll through your soundscape. Recorded on my cellphone and cleaned up in reaper. Production-now. Com - shout-outs welcome.

Recorded with josephson c700s (output is soundfield w, x, and y channels) at 96 khz, 24 bit. Encoded to stereo nos with harpex. Recorded on 21/02/2010 at approx. 4pm at zürich hauptbahnhof (main train station), switzerland. Can't remember which platform (possibly 12?). Recorded with a zoom h2 in 2-channel surround mode, no windshield. File has not been modified, only cut short from a longer recording.

London underground trains have rubber wheels and a characteristic kind of rumble. The doors open and close automatically. Faint tannoy announcement in the background, and a couple of electronic warning tones when the doors open and close. Aldgate east station is huge but has a surprisingly 'dry' and 'dead' acoustic so that it is very quiet when the trains have gone. Recorded on a zoom h2 recorder, front microphones, 90 degree separation. No amplification or equilisation on this sample.
