The high-pitched singing screech of train wheels recorded from a moderate distance in a wooded area.

I recorded this sound at the steam-locomotives preservation park in kyoto, japan. Roar of steam whistle was much louder than i had imagined, so it was necessary to set the gain level of mic-preamp carefully. Using at825 and fr-2.

This is simportant because it gives this particular train a distinctive acoustical fingerprint: you can hear engine bursts (a bit like a bus hitting the gas) no electrical train does that. . . But, recently i recorded the sound of the approaching train carrying loads of coal. It was around dusk and breezy -- melancholy combination. . . . I really love the echo of the whistle. . . . And as i listened i could not help but think about 100 years ago when trains were more common, amazing how things change. Well, here it is. Kvgarlic.
