Recorded at silverstone circuit from becketts grandstand for the fia formula 3 (race 1) for the 2022 season. Recording captures the entire lap, from the exhaust sound from them coming through the loop, aintree and the wellington straight with them coming past the microphone at maggots, becketts and chapel corners. This is a digitally synthesized version of the sound produced by current choppers on board the "jeumont element 041/042 train" used in the montreal metro. It is a five-note sequence of tones (90 hz, 120 hz, 180 hz, 240 hz, 360 hz) produced as the train accelerates out of the station. I could not make a recording of the actual jeumont train as the train was scrapped in 2018, which was before i even made my account!.

The door opens, i put on my seat belt, insert the key, start the vehicle (there's the ready-to-drive beep), i put the car in drive, release the parking brake, and drive away. This is the companion audio to the article "modify your monitor audio" appearing on w1zy's substack account. In it, we hear what happens when you mix through a soundboard the audio from a ham radio transmitter's "monitor" output and a second receiver dialed onto the transmitter's output frequency. When the two are mixed, we hear a heterodyning between the external receiver and the transmitter monitor audio sources. By adjusting the receiver's frequency to that of the transmitted signal, we can zero-beat the two audio sources together producing a "flange" effect derived from analog devices. Non-ham audio enthusiasts might find this clip interesting since it is producing this artifact not through some plug-in, but through use of "legacy" analog equipment.
