They are referred to as different things but overall a creepy, evil, raspy, breathy type screeching sound. I created this with a type of practiced scream on a blue yeti usb condenser microphone. I recorded in audacity and added some reverb, fade in, and fade out. It was originally for a video game voice over audition. I also have the original with no fx if needed. My example/inspiration were the creatures in lord of the rings, fellowship of the ring. They are also called the fell riders and the black wings (when they ride the fell beasts), as well as the shadows, the servants of sauron, and the nine servants of the lord of the rings. I created a chip track to which i added a reverbation effect. I copied it and then rendered both onto a new track. Reusing the same sound , i lengthened the tempo and increased the pitch on the second one. I then reused it a few times to imitate the sound of the ball bouncing off the table, speeding up the tempo and adding a fade out effect.
