Sitting inside a car while driving through a small city. It is raining outside. First start of the engine, during the ride the rain is getting more heavier. Maybe very good for radio play as background. Recorded with a zoom h2n (m/s)44. 1 khz/24 bit.

July 2013, rcording from setup pc in greenhouse. Extreme rain changing to hail (25 mm diamter)for a couple of minutes, then rain again. Last bit of recording is sound from pc fan. Did not cut it off, wanted to let listeners understand that i made a temporary installation in the greenhouse for capturing the immense noise.

110 bpm, c notes, middle c, with a 1/4 wobble, half as sine, half as sawtooth descending, with random sounds and filters. Compressed a bit to give ti the full sound. Useful for games or music.

This is a case front-loader/backhoe loading up concrete that was just broken up and loading it to a nearby dump truck. There are a couple workers using shovels and speaking a little bit of spanish i think. Unedited. No effects. Equipment: rode nt3 to sound devices 702.

This is traffic outside my office on ventura boulevard, recorded in the lobby with the front door closed. The traffic is still fairly present, because there's a mail slot in the door which allows quite a bit of the sound through. Recorded with: sanken cs-1e, fostex fr2le.

An old unfinished loop i made in fl studio (version 6 at the time i believe). It contains some dark ambient drones in the second half that adds a bit of mysteriousness to it. Perfectly loopable and free to use wherever you want!.

Hybrid virtual analog and analog mixed together through a behringer mixer into an mpc 1000. Light effect send to warm it up a bit. Doesn't sound like strings, thats just what i was going for, but this is where i ended up. Enjoy44. 1k, 16bit.

This was made with kontact and a korg ea-1, mixed with a behringer mixer with light dirt and overdrive. Sampled into an mpc. Left and right are separate channels processed differently. So each sample is actually 2 different sample, 3 if you combine them. 44. 1k, 16-bit.

Yamaha tx81z initialized with mild adjustments, run through a korg ea-1. Mixed with a behringer, with fx sends going to a chorus pedal and a distortion pedal. Sampled with the mpc. Sounds similar to dirty guitar or an electric violin. 44. 1k, 16-bit.

It's a recording of a firework candle going off. The candle bursts near the end of the recording, before burning out. Recorded with zoom h2's rear mics at 96khz/24bit on a mic stand. Denoised, normalized, truncated and converted to 16-bit flac using audacity.

There is a little bit of wind sound made by the mass of water falling into the shower tub. At the end of the track you can hear me putting away the shower curtain. Recorded with olympus ls-3 two stereo microphones, one bass (middle) microphone. 96hz, 24bit.

A heavy goods-train enters an empty station and breaks. Another train is pushed around a bit. You hear the creaking of the metal, the breaks squeeking and general metal-on-metal mayhem. Some background noise from cars and some birds tweeting in the background. Recorded using a sony pcm-d50.

I needed a sound effect of a body being thrown into a river for a play. This is a recording of me falling backwards into a pool. Splash_1 is a little louder, and there is some clipping. Splash_2 is a bit longer. Recorded using internal mics of a zoom h2n.

Short and long bursts from a saline applicator bottle that makes a high pitched wheezing noise, a bit like a wet train whistle. Also includes the bubbling end as the bottle runs out and is empty. Recorded on tascam dr-40, cleaned up in audacity. Shout-outs welcome: production-now. Com.

This recording was taken on dangar island shoreline. It features the gentle lapping ocean on the beach with the occasional jumping fish. The recording was taken with a tascam dr-44wl and the onboard xy mic pair. Post recording the sound was cleaned up a bit with rx spectral de-noise, and then normalised.

I clicked it so hard, that if i clicked it half as hard twice at the same time, it would be the same volume!!! there's quite a bit of background noise on this one because i am the king of maximum gain. Bzzhzhhshshhzhzhhhzzzz.

A previous bitcrushed melody i made it with fl studio then i added a reverb effect on it. The dry version of the same melody will be released soonit is a melody played on to octaves , the higher first then the lower. 32 bar long. 90 bpm. Injoy.

This is a powerful turkey lure/call or general sound effect. Recorded entirely on my own equipment, a zoom h8 at 96 khz @ 24-bit encoding for high resolution life-like playback. Background filtered to absolute silence using nch wave pad and mix pad, along with rodecaster pro audio dsw processing.

I tried to import a raw, pcm audio sample into audacity and it came out like this. It was alot worse when it was imported, right now this is about as audibly palatable as i could get it to. This is still loud, so turn your speakers down a little bit before playing.

A bird was singing close to a chimney early in the morning. I had my recording gear ready to go. It took quit a bit of processing (= noise-removal & filtering) to get rid of rubbish. I added a slight reverb to it. The recording is made in zoetermeer, a city close to the hague.

Stretched sound, good for video games. I made the original sample in fruity loops using the reverse effect on a basic software sample sound. After that i used paul stretcher effect in audacity to stretch everything up and give it a longer feel. Also added little bit of dellay and reverb after stretching it.

Ringing of a small metal bell. Recorded using a blue yeti microphone at 16-bit 44100hz in audacity. Used audacity's noise removal filter to to remove background noise. For this file, i isolated the samples i liked and left a small gap of silence between them for separation later. Attribution appreciated but not required.

A door is trying to keep itself closed with a strong wind (very fast thanks to the mountain). You can notice the cracks: it's old, more than 30 years old. I left a wall clock running by mistake, but i think it can't be noticed. If you do and don't want it, i have another recording with it stopped (same name, number 2). Recorded with a zoom h4n. This is a recording of myself sleeping, beginning ~ 1:00 am local time (~ 3hrs after going to bed) on january 10th, 2020 (which i later discovered was a full moon). I was in the midst of experimenting with recording myself all night long out of curiosity, using a laptop placed near the head of my bed. This particular recording was the only anomalous one (the rest consisting mostly of just breathing or snoring with occasional sleep-talking). This ~2 hour recording has several interesting properties, which make it hard for me to believe that these sounds were actually going on while i was sleeping. On the other hand, i don't have a memory of editing this file if i did. Either way, i find it unsettling. I found the file in oct 2021 while organizing my samples. As far as i can remember, this is the original raw recording. On further inspection, i discovered that it has some additional peculiar properties that make it even harder to believe i could have made it without remembering doing so. The audio spans almost exactly 118min (7080s). There’s a frequency sweep with a cycle-length of 6480ms that repeats throughout the entire recording. Dividing the 118min by 6. 48min (60 cycles) results in 18 parts containing exactly 60 cycles and a remainder of 12 cycles. I made this recording of ambient backgroud noise directly beneath the eiffel tower. The shape of the eiffel tower creates a unique acoustic environment in the vicinity of the tower, especially beneath it. You can hear a much higher level of background noise than you would hear in an open area, and the noise is unusual. The tower is made of thin pieces of iron arranged into a complex and very large lattice, which reflects and slices and dices sound in a unique way. Thus you have a high level of very even and unidentifiable background noise as noises from the ground and the platform get bounced around and distorted by the structure of the tower. This recording was made from the ground, with microphones pointed straight upwards about 2 meters off the ground. Noises from the ground travel upwards and bounce around the inside of the tower, then drift back down. There are noises in the tower itself as well, such as elevator motors and people on the platforms. The first platform, at 57 meters, is open in the center, whereas the second platform, at 116 meters, is completely closed and flat on the bottom. Wind moving through the tower also makes noise, and again the open structure of the tower changes the noise in a way that is specific to the eiffel tower. There wasn't much wind at ground level for this recording, but i don't know what the wind speed was at higher levels in the tower. Some voices in multiple languages are audible in the recording, as the area beneath the tower is awash in tourists. Recorded hand-held with a zoom h4n and a mini windjammer, using built-in mics, in stereo 96 khz / 24 bits, then converted to mp3 at 320 kbps because of the size of the file. Duration is about two minutes.

A bit of spooky music i made in garageband for a thing called victors crypt. I made some chords and tones with an organ-sound with a lot of delay and effects on it. Added other eerie sounding noises and voila, a scary bit of music. Think it would fit anything creepy, scary, haunted. Fantasy, horror, terrifying, dystopia or whatever comes to mind. The beach at aldeburgh is made of pebbles so you can hear little of that as i walk around. You can the crashing of the waves against the pebbles and that fizzing noise as the sound dies down and the water recedes from the beach. This was recorded using a zoom h2n in 16-bit. Wav format.
