The recording changes in perspective and cycles from the lower part (a wooden crate to receive the milled flour) to the upper element (a large plastic funnel in which the dried corn grains are tipped) and then back down again. 48k/16 bitrecorded in 2010.

We are back in germany and its raining again! i opened the window an little bit and recorded with my roland binaural mics the rain and raindrops that are falling from the window! you can clearly hear the drops but sometimes you have a little wind noise. Recorded with roand binaural microphones and zoom h1 in 96/24.

Man, this is extremely old! so old that i actually had to pitch it down, because my voice was higher back then, lmao. I literally just growled into my mic and added some paulstretch and reverb, and then pitched it down a bit. It's meant to be like a monster or demon being angered or awoken in an indoors area or something like that.

I recorded my voice while watching and listening to sad stuff to force real crying out of me. This way i can have real crying clips for stock instead of trying to fake it. I was recording outside my bedroom window while eating dinner in the living room, then i came back in here to see if i got anything interesting. I was zooming through the recording at 5x speed when i came across this bit of incidental pareidolia. I'm not sure what was going on, maybe the neighbors' stereo, but i don't remember hearing it, it's much louder in the living room so i should have. Whatever it was came out as a little distant choppy 2-notes alternating melody when played at 5x speed, which suddenly gets louder and solid as you hear the lower note followed by a third lower note. These 2 louder notes sound to me like someone singing the words all day. This would lead me to believe the original tones have some light harmonics i don't hear at normal speed. After which it goes back to the softer stuttering 2-note alternating thing from before. It doesn't sound like much at all at normal speed. So i just did a few straight pitch changes with goldwave until i got to 5x and saved this little file. See if it sounds like "all day" to you.

One friday night, me and my partner were eating dinner, and we both heard a click. She perks up, "what was that?" and i said "the dryer is running, probably something in it" and she goes "no it was inside" (our dryer is like a back door outside porch kinda deal). I noticed it came from inside as well, in the kitchen, but mentally shrugged it off because lasagna. But now i know she heard it inside too, so i walk in the kitchen where the sound came from and don't see anything moving or on. I took note of where my cats were in case anything was being chewed on: one in bed, one on the couch, they aren't chewing on anything or are even near the clicking sound, so back to dinner. About 45 minutes later, dinner is wrapped up, my partner is asleep and i start turning off all the lights. When i turn the kitchen lights off, there is a light that stays on in the corner. I have a car battery recharger there: it has usb ports in case ya lose power, charger cables, and a flashlight attached on the side. . . . Which is on. I turn it off: exact same click that i heard earlier. Do i have a ghost?.

I went for a more realistic gun sound without the hollywood subbass and a lot cleaner than my previous work. Made in ableton live, i just layered an ak47, an m16, an enfield rifle and an acoustic kick drum together with eq and used parallel compression to gel them together. Transient designers were used on the layers to make them snap harder. A bolt slide forward sample and a bolt slide back sample were added to give some mechanical feels to the gunshot. Enjoy.

A beautiful, ancient sound of a small creek flowing in a heavy midwestern forestafter a late autumn day of rain. (recorded on sunday november 30th, 2019)this particular " scene " is the result of a 2 inch deep flow of water suddenly dropping over several medium-sized old rocks. In a few days, this flow will cease and the creek-bed will revert back to its typical, meandering , dry rocky path through the woods. Enjoy. This was recorded as foley for a sound design / composition contract i took for a theatre company. We needed a train sound to signify crates of dead soldiers being shipped back from the front lines, to be processed and fed to soldiers holding encampants behind the lines. It was recorded in an arcade adjoining outbuildings of a factory converted to studio and office spaces. I excused myself from rehearsal to catch the recording shortly after learning a woman i'd been seeing for about a year was through with our relationship. I won an award in composition and sound design for the work i did for the play.

Late winter snow storm last night in the detroit area 3-3-23 around 9pm est. Was attempting to record thundersnow but by the time i found my batteries the thunder and lightning stopped. Threw my zoom h1n under a plastic cloths basket just incase the thunder started back up, but no luck. This is a short clip of the original hour long recording. You'll hear, sleet, snow & wind.

I live on a lake and this is what my back patio sounds like every night. They live in the branches of the weeping willow trees that dip down to the water. The sound starts with one frog, then a few join in, and soon there as a chorus of them on all ends of the lake in all tempos going at once. Then when a crescendo is reached, they all start to stop one by one until it's silent again. But the silence only lasts for minute, and then the cycle repeats. I don't know if it's some huge frog mating ritual, or family reunion.

Recorded using a directional shotgun microphone into a zoom h4 recorder. Wind sock and hpf have been used to reduce rumble. This particular recording was taken a bit further back from the fountains to try and achieve a more ambient sound, capturing bird song, light winds, distant traffic and park keeper activity.

This is a repost of beerbottlewhoo. Ogg. It's the same sound except that this one is in wav format. Glass beer bottle blow sounding like the background "whoo" effect in the movies alien and blade runner. Mono. Old school spot effect. Helmholtz resonance using a partially-filled (for pitch tuning) glass beer bottle. The resulting tone was sampled, bandpass filtered, pitch bent and laid over a copy of the original sample. Reverb added post-effect to push the sound back and smooth out some nasty quantizing artefacts caused by the pitch bender.

A recording of a manual typewriter. The author is inserting paper, typing a paragraph, and then removing the paper. Sound of paper being inserted into the typewriter using the paper platen winder. Then the sound of typing of about 50 words. A small bell sound is heard at the end of each line, then the sound of the platen being pushed back to start the next line, and the platen moving the paper up one line. The sample ends with the sound of the paper being wound through the typewriter and removed. I have tried to avoid clipping of each typed letter. There is a lot of percussive multi pitch sound in each typed letter. There is a mechanical escapement that provides a clicking sound as the platen is moved back for the next line. This sample was recorded direct to the hard drive of this samsung nc10 netbook using audacity set to 44. 1khz and 16 bit in mono. A dynamic microphone was used on a small desk stand about 1 foot (30cm) from the typewriter, the stand being on a different table to the one on which the typewriter was used. The microphone was a fairly cheap make (hitachi hmp606) and was pre-amplified using a maycom mictube preamplifier built into the xlr connector, connected to the mic in port of the samsung nc10 netbook. The mic boost was reduced to zero, and the gain of the maycom preamp was at its lowest setting.

I combined an ambient bar crowd recording that i found here with a funky little back beat that i also found on this site and made a great cubicle noise blocker / filter. I use this at work with headphones on when i'm trying to concentrate and drown out conversations in the office. Also good for when i work from home and i'm trying to drown out the tv and other distractions. The crowd noise is excellent at diffusing regular office conversation and the little funky back beat keeps the crowd noise from getting boring. This works really well even at fairly low volume i. E. You dont have to crank it loud to drown out the distractions. Hope you like it and thanks to everyone for the great sounds on this site. This very happy bird-song was recorded in late winter/very early spring of 2012. It was a cold, partly sunny morning after a cold night, yet this red male cardinal was singing proud and loud. Recorded in a small town, with some traffic sounds in the back. Also, if you listen close enough you will hear some starlings in the background with their waking up chorus. Recorded using the handy/zoom h4n recorder and a samson c0-2 microphone mounted inside my home-built parabolic reflector.

This is a recording i made for one of my songs. I found it nice to run the group's output through the ohmforce ohmicide and have some fun with the separate bands. The original loop consists of me, drumming on my metal kitchen-sink with drum-brushes. The snary accents are the brushes on the back of my acoustic guitar. All recorded with a neumann u87 and mangled through a ua solo610 with tube-gain cranked up. The bassdrumsound is also an handplayed sound from my nord lead. All recorded in 48/16.

Here is the sound of a 50-caliber barrett rifle being fired. You'll first hear the sound of the bolt being pulled back. Really cool sound if you can listen on some nice big speakers. Recorded with my handy zoom h4n using a rode ntg-2 shotgun microphone. I was standing about 20 feet from the rifle, and i still have the input gain turned way down to about 30, just to make sure the circuitry was not overloaded. Also, since this was in a big, wide-open field, you get a nice echo.

Soothing lake waves rolling onto beach with a bird call 3/4 through the clip. Not sure of the bird but it was grey and the size of a grey jay/whiskey jack/camp robber but a different spices as it had a black and white saddle on its back and a different head than a grey jay. I was not fast enough to get a photo of the bird. The sound was captured by a rode videomic on a cannon vixia hg20. I broke the sound out with corel videostudio pro 8 and saved the file.
