An interesting recording of birds, led by blue jays, doing their alarm calls. I was in the middle of the woods when i noticed that the birds seemed to be alarmed like there was a predator nearby and sure enough, i finally spotted a big barred owl sitting high in a tree about 50 yards from my recorder. This sound was recorded with a cm25 mkii condenser microphone, connected to a focusrite scarlett interface. The daw in which it was recorded is ardour and a guitar effects vst was used to add some distortion and delay. It was created with a photoresistor and a led lamp. The microphone was placed pointing towards one of the edges of the monitor, so as not to emphasize the treble and to balance more with the mids.
