Busy street in tokyo during the evening rush hour. I placed a pair of mics at 120 degrees between 2 stop lights on a busy street. There are 3 distinct "waves" of traffic let through the lights and all our recorded well. The panning is quite dramatic, so you really get a sense of movement.

This record is done near court yard at russia where children plays. Summertime. Cars are passing by, sometimes frogs are croaking in the pond near by, and once helicopter flies past pretty low. 11 minutes of ambient noise from a city: people chattering, pigeons and birds calling, traffic moving, dogs barking, buses taking off or squealing to a stop, etc. Taken from my apartment window in downtown seattle. Mic used: blue yeti (usb condenser, cardioid setting).

I tried to get a surround recording using mics, but there was a horrible street musician playing off in the distance. I thought it wouldn't be clear in the recording, but one of the mics picked him up quite well. The recording was ruined, so i did a little processing at home and came up with this freaky bit for your listening pleasure. Not sure if it's usable beyond listening, tho. . .
