I think this sounds a bit like a jazz age theme reflecting a journey by steam ship. It was bolted together from little loopable sections (also uploaded separately here) which were all created using edirol orchestral samples and the magic of arpeggiating programs. Feel free to use this for anything you like without crediting me, or assemble your own tune out of the individual sections.

Very amateur guitar play of a tune of my own doing, up and down fret board mainly on one string. From an old cassette (memorex 120) recorded in 1984 when i was 15. This was an experimental recording session, using two tape recording machines. This is take - 1 or track - 1 of 3, with the end result making a 3 track recording.

This is a tune i've made out of a short saxophone riff (using edirol orchestral vst) which i've pitch shifted and reversed and reverbed and stuff and i think it sounds a bit 80s and very much like background music for some sort of tv program or film with spying or detectives or ghosts or possibly straight horror.

fluctuating random voltages patch example from doepfer. De/a100_man/a100_patch. Htmi made the patch in vcv-rack. The patch is meant to emulate the "fluctuating random voltages" of the buchla 266 source of uncertainty module. In this patch i use the "fluctuating random voltages" to modulate a filter. The filter is filtering a square wave tuned to a c (or close to a c).

This is a suona audio segment from 《a hundred birds paying homage to the phoenix》which is one of the ten most famous pieces of chinese folk instrumental music. It depicts the sound of a hundred birds singing in harmony and celebrates the beauty of nature in a lively and cheerful tune, which gives full play to the characteristics of the suona. Its popularity is widespread, with different versions available in shandong, anhui, henan, hebei and other places. The music evokes a love of nature and a life of labor with a warm and upbeat melody.

I took blimp66's "sad and silly vocal tune" and pitched shifted it a half step lower, and added danke's synth string pad loop, which i also had to lower the pitch on, all to make the perfect background music to mr. Lima "thethanx" brattleboro's poem "you are what you eat. " i checked off the explicit content box, cuz i'm not sure if the poem is actually appropriate for minors, even though it doesn't really have curse words in it. You decide for yourself. Samples used on this track:. Dave girtsman aka blimp66 : http://www. Davegirtsman. Com/ freesound. Org/people/blimp66/sounds/190628/. Lima brattleboro aka thethanx : https://www. Looperman. Glass beer bottle blow sounding like the background "whoo" effect in the movies alien and blade runner. Mono. Old school spot effect. Helmholtz resonance using a partially-filled (for pitch tuning) glass beer bottle. The resulting tone was sampled, bandpass filtered, pitch bent and laid over a copy of the original sample. Reverb added post-effect to push the sound back and smooth out some nasty quantizing artefacts caused by the pitch bender.

There is a new freeware program called splitte. Aithat will take any piece of music and extract parts from it. It is highly inaccurate when trying to really accuratelysurgically remove, say, bass, drums, guitar or vocal tracks, but it creates some really trippy artifacts. All of these sample were from a live jazz tune that we were playing. The results of splitter splitting the tracks were really weird and ethereal. I have no affiliation with splitter. Ai, by the way, i just stumbled on it thisweek.

I bring the uoki-toki polivoks vcf to self-oscillation and tune the vcf to ca 270hz too. I let the lfo sweep the frequency. Cv1 pot at ca 70%. What happens. . .

Recordings from one of my workshops at uni. Gareth stuart is playing while we test mic techniques for: interaural intensity difference, interaural time difference and which techniques and positions reduced the instruments natural hiss, but we also discovered that a lot of people like the clarinet's tuneful hiss. We used an ab split stereo pair , xy pair and then an ortf pair. Used rode's nt5 pair, veeery nice.

I steve reiched a 'tune' i made with the celeste sample from my edirol orchestral plug-in and i think it makes good atmospheric music for a variety of things, depending on where you are in the track. It only really gets going from about 1:35 but after that i think it makes good fairy tale, horror, meditation, relaxation and mystical/cosmic soundtracks.

X and y comes from the nonlinearcircuits sloth lfo (regular version). X is the high sinus c, left channel. Y is the low triangle c, right channel. X and y goes to comparator resulting in a note when crossing the threshold. At the same time x and y goes to cv in on jupiter storm generating two glissando paths. The two used osc's on jupiter storm are tuned to the same pitch.

This is a synthesized hi-hat groove. It is basically an on two layers sequenced noise-patch. One layer to create the "closed hat" effect and another one to create the "open hat" effect. I've applied some waveshaping to add sharpness to the sound and put some reverb on top of that. If you like this sound, you'll probably also like my tunes on soundcloud: http://soundcloud. Jammin on the 60hz hum! i think my body was an acting as an antenna for that ubiquitous drone as i laid my hands on the device. Reminds me of certain early progpsy tunes, c. 1999. Really creates some interesting moods with a little echo. Enjoy!.

Melodic snippets from recordings of me playing the swar sangam. This wonderful instrument is a combination of the swarmandal and the tampura. 15 harp strings and 4 drone/bass strings. In these recordings i am only using the swarmandal (harp) part. It is tuned to c sharp, but i have dropped the fourth note (f sharp) out of the scale. There are four packs with lots of recordings in them, strums, plucks, short improvisations. "short melodic statements" are 1-2 bars. "riffs" are 2-4 bars. "melodies" are about 30 seconds and "runs and flutters" speaks for itself. There is recording of tuning up the swarmandal in the melodies pack. The snippets were taken from recordings done on three different days so you may notice a slight difference in volume and background noise. A couple of the recordings have some ambient noise (bird tweets, wind chimes,)some of the melodies are based around a similar theme but have enough variation to be interesting/useful. Credit is not required but always appreciated. Linking to the sound allows others to find this amazing website. :-)i love to hear what you have used my sounds for!.

Crude arpeggio and single note taps of the inner strings of an early-20th-century chas m. Stieff upright piano. This particular model was made in baltimore and spent most of its life in the lobby of the willard intercontinental hotel in d. C. , and the last 30 years in our home in fairfax, virginia. We are dismantling part of the piano to repair, clean, and, unfortunately, sell it. The mechanism for one note is the only problem, and, of course, it needs tuning. Anyone willing to give this a good home?.

Simple patch. Two oscillators, ring modulation, lfos, vcas and digital effects. No spring reverb this time. Important module is the clock divider. The oscillators where tuned to the same tone one octave apart. Well. . . Not exactly. After having recorded i measured the frequencies 228,8 hz and 117,7 hz. . . But that made the output from the ring modulator interesting. What is generative with this? i modulate amplitude of the sounds and the decay for all thee sounds. This also affects the rhythm sound.
