Amateur guitar play from an old cassette (memorex 120, 1 of 2) recorded in 1984 when i was 15. Plucking 1 or 2 strings to a tune of my own making. This was an experimental recording session, using two tape recording machines. (ghetto blaster & hi-fi tower) take - 3 with takes 1 & 2 impositions playing, creating a final 3 track recording. Two previous takes (two track recording) playing, while recording a third track.

Amateur guitar plucking of a tune of my own making, mainly on one string up and down the fret board. Recorded august or september 1984 when i was 15/16. Cassette is a basf cr2-90 (1 of 3). Recorded on my fidelity hi-fi tower, with microphones jacked in. The extra guitar strums near the end were actually unrelated, a technical glitch made an impression of the previous recording to bleed through. Audio has been uploaded using alesis usb tape deck link to audacity, no editing or noise removal was utilised.

Semi-auto rifle simulation, created using zoom h1. Artificial gun shots to simulate a semi-auto weapon in battle. Mic capsules were tapped with a popsicle stick to create this sound. Recorded at 24 bit 96khz, exported to 16 bit wav. Added pop compression filter for a theater like experience in post. Feel free to use this were ever you need it. A little credit wouldn't hurt. I recorded some rain outside my front door. This is a tuned (a440) sample which you can use to achieve a sort of soft-yet-textured synth string sound in a virtual instrument like ableton's sampler. I think adding a little fake vibrato to it with multiple conflicting volume lfos sounds pretty nice. You're free to use this sound without attribution. Modular synth patch where two envelopes are involved in a chase. There could have been a rhythm, but i let chaos disturb theharmony. The square wave sounds are "distorted" in a wave rectifier. A tuned chau gong from my personal collection. I made these samples long ago and only did one take per gong. So, these sounds are a bit rough, but that should do well to suit the kinds of music that would use these gongs. I have tried loading single samples from this set (especially #4) across an entire keyboard, and playing that one sample as if it were the whole set, and that has worked out well. So, if one of the gongs crashes too much or decays too quickly for your liking, it should be trivial to replace that sound with another, pitch-shifted one.

Wrote/recorded a free orchestral tune at 175-bpm using ableton live 9. Ableton stock plugins used: braskinski, grand pianoezdrummer2 used for percussion sections. Kontact5 used for trumpet, trombone, string, bass sections. Guitarrig5 used for electric guitar elements. -15. 0 lufs integrated. -2. 1 db true peak max. I used audacity to record this sound with no editing. I used turtle beaches x12 to record. The sound was from an old antique wind-up toy mechanism (music box) that was made in japan. I covered the metal with my finger to change tone of the song. The song played on the music box was called "close to you". Recorded from line-in from a 13-year-old boombox tuned to the bottom of the am dial and placed near the computer. You can hear the cd-player starting up, working, stopping, working again. At one point i skip through a track with winamp creating a choppy sound. When the cd player stops you can hear the base computer noise.

Wrote/recorded a free dance tune at 100bpm using ableton live 9. Basic 4 chord song structure (a, e, g, d). Synth and synth sounds are a combination of ableton stock plugins (bass groove, might as well synth brass, celestial pad) and free online synth vsts (dexed, synth1 vst). Snippets from recordings of me playing the tanpura. The strings are tuned to b, d, g and e, so would work well in the keys of g or e minor. I noticed that my first pack of tanpura samples has a bit of fuzzy white noise so in this pack i have equalized - i reduced all the very high frequencies which got rid of most of the white noise without affecting the low frequency sounds of the tanpura itself. Please note this is the tanpura part of an instrument called the swar sangam which combines the swarmandal (indian harp) and the tanpura, it is not a traditional tanpura and does sound slightly different.

This lovely little toy piano has been a member of my parent’s home since before i can remember. These days it falls under the jurisdiction of my 4-year old niece, who was ever so kind as to allow me to record it!. It has a fabulous tinkling and out-of-tune carnival sort of sound, and i wanted to capture that before the piano was destroyed altogether. Here’s a quick tip: when you’re holding the little computer thingie and signing, your hands are occupied. The thing kept rejecting my signature. Like, five times. Also if the package is on the floor, how you pick it up calls for considered forethought. I'd already sidestepped, um, all of that. Since when do two guys deliver one package?.

A high-pitched, metal windchime, sent through some granular processing software. The reel is divided into two, long halves: one with the sound playing forwards and one with it playing in reverse. This means i can easily switch from forward to reverse without tuning issues, simply by applying cv to the morphagene's 'slide' control.

A little thing i came up with while doing some research on how j macis writes music. Found out he puts a capo on the second fret and by doing that this japanese pop chord progression i learned by watching a video marty friedman did on japanese style guitar improv was sounding a lot better than without one. This is free to use but if you do use it maybe throw my name on there, or at least show me what you did!. Recorded with a shitty usb mic i got for 20$ against an orange crush 20rt, effects used were a blues driver and a tube screamer.

This is my attempt to emulate the sound of the harmony 64 chimes that can be heard on some ice cream trucks. I used a single note from a low-quality recording from a demo of the chimes for the base synth then cleaned up the audio using audacity and set the starting pitch to "c". I then composed a short variation of a well-known song (bicycle built for two in this case).
