I went to an auction last week, and recorded some sounds with my zoom h4n. The auctioneer is fairly close, but not close enough that you don't get any echo. Several cars drive by. People yelling "yep!". Loopable.

Created in audacity by recording 4 strings of a violine, slowing down tempo, boosting bass frequencies with an equalizer and finally paulstretch. Silence has been truncated and endings are faded. This is the ambience of a normal working day. As you can hear, there is normal things happening. Like a telephone going off, writing, typing and all that other stuff that you would probably hear on a normal basis. Actually. . . More like a stereotype.
