I used an my older fantasy sound to create the sound. I recorded it with a tascam dr-05x. To this i added the sound of the storm. In the end, i used reverb fx.

Created with a doepfer a-100 modular synthesizer sequenced by a korg sq-1 processed by a zoom multistomp ms-70cdr guitar multi-fx pedal, using the particle and hd reverb. Audio source is a self-resonating, modulated doepfer a-108 vcf8. The reverbs ran in series. The manual states that the particle reverb is based on the line6 m9 particle verb. Named it "darkest hour" cause it has this dark doomy "world is going under"-element to it i think. Think it would work great to a game, youtube-channel, episode, movie or whatever you feel like. This is the unprocessed version of my "sci-fi ambient drone" upload. It's creative commons cc0, so please treat it as public domain. You can use it in any commercial or non-commercial media for free, no restrictions. I took a quick 8-second drum loop from my teenage engineering po-33 (ko) and ran it through a free time-stretching/pitch-shifting program called akaizer. This program is based on old samplers like the akai s1000 that had extremely artifact-heavy time-stretching and pitch-shifting features. If you slow a sound down enough, the final product tends to sound harsh and electric. Akaizer turned my 8-second drum loop into 2 minutes and 38 seconds of harsh, bassy noise, pretty damn close to the final. Enjoy :).
