Tried to design a flamethrower sound.

In this series of recordings i strike many cook's safety matches, in a small plaster-boarded room. These sounds were recorded with a match pair of rode m5 small diaphragm condenser microphones, into a zoom h4n. These are the raw sound recording with not noise reduction, eq, or compression. These sounds are 100% free for all uses.

Stove fire burners ignited one by one (having their drip bowls on). Recorded with a zoom h2 positioned in the middle of stove burners. Some generative wildfire sfx made with sunvox. The crackling sounds were made by taking some highpassed white noise, ring modulating it with some more white noise, and then using a noise gate to usilate the loudest 'crackles'. The rumbling was created using lowpassed white noise, and the wind was made by bandpassing white noise with a high resonance and randomly sliding the filter frequency. Everything was sent into a reverb and a stereo expander.

Lighting a safety match. No other effect apart from using the zoom h6's xy mic at 90 degrees and a bit of trimming and the tinest amount of volume automation to rise the end part to an audible gain. Possible applications could be used for a character who smokes cigarettes, foley for a ignition sound effect or literally lighting a safety match.
