This recording was made alongside a camera trap survey while at loagan bunut national park in sarawak, malaysia. It's a quite nice little bit that we didn't expect to ever find a use for, but came across this website and through i would share it. It lasts a good long time with pretty consistent sounds, so best wishes on it's use. Here is a short recording with my new olympus dictaphone noise at night in the countryside. Recording made in the south of france to 10:00 pm.

Quiet urban residential area in tokyo at about 2 am in the late summer (october, i think). You can hear far off traffic, some night insects and a drunk guy who came to close to my hidden mics to take a whiz. Excluding the peeing guy, quiet parts are perfect for looping (for ambient background sounds in video or audio works). The peeing guy might actually be useful, so i didn't cut it out. Faithfully recorded with a stereo mic pair placed at a 90 degree angle. The left-right balance was adjusted and the stereo field was expanded later to fix the lopsided sided flatness of the original recording. Other than that, the recording is unprocessed.

Insects (i think mostly crickets) make this noise. It sounds so. . . Infernal!, or futuristic (electronic for sure). I recorded this (with my old zoom ii recorder) one summer night in tlacotlapan, at the southern mexican state of veracruz. All this happened for hours inside my hotel room. So you can imagine what kind of night i have. Wonderful memories.

Created only with audacity and magix. A few sawtooth waves with slow tremoloand a lot of high pass filtering and pitch-shifting. I added filtered pink noisefor the background noise and to make it sound more naturel.

This is a field recording of a late night ambience in a suburban area in india. A variety of insects, predominantly crickets can be heard along with distant dogs and traffic. This high resolution clip has been cleaned to eliminate lf hum and other intermittent loud noises.
