This clip was made because i was looking for a strong thunderstorm sound effect for a school play. I wasn't able to find one that was strong enough for what i wanted, so this. Mp3 was made in audacity from three other audio files from freesound - they are #s 27247, 2521, and 87472. This information is also in the 'comment' metadata of the mp3 file. As far as i can tell, this is the "strongest" storm available on freesound as of early february 2010. (i could be wrong of course!). If there is interest, i can upload an uncompressed aif of the audacity track (it'll take awhile) but i figured there was no point since 2/3rds of the files used were originally mp3's from here. Hope this helps someone looking for a long, strong storm with high winds, loud rain, and many thunderbolts! (the thunderbolts are duplicated throughout the file; the original file contained a much more natural and less angry storm).

Recording of sea undertow on the beach of formicoli, vibo valentia, calabria, italy, the 19th agust 2022 16:44. The sound was recorder with a zoom h1n with windshield at a short distance from the crashing of the waves on the beach. The waves are driven by a light, gentle wind. The sound was recorded by holding the microphone in my hand while i dived knee-deep into the water and walk, filming the crashing of the waves (also on my legs). High-frequency sound details (the foam of the sea, the impact of waves on each other, etc. ) are much more audible here. Processing:* volume adjustment;* 120hz high pass filter (to reduce low some low frequencies rumble due to the wind);* cut and crossfade to eliminate very few mechanical noise of my hand on the mic;.

This is my first recording using my binaural mic. I took a walk to meet my wife for lunch and decided to record it. It was windy outside, and even with the standard foam wind protection, you can still hear some wind rumble. It might be fixed using some low cut filtering but i wanted to post it as is. This take started inside my recording studio and ended in a fairly large avenue with lots of traffic (cars and motorcycles). Recording in the back garden of a residential property. Property backs on to a large rugby field. There is a busy road 100m from the front of the house, and a school 300-400m down the road from the front of the house. Recorded on a sunny day with a very small amount of wind.

I've recorded this sound then i improved it on audacity, i reduced the wind so we can only hear de sound of the skate wheels. One of a series of heavily processed sounds i made using a small squeeze toy that just happens to be shaped like a cob of corn. I used s-layer, the sample-mangling plugin from twisted tools, to combine these swishy sounds with various other metallic and synthetic sounds from my own library. I was trying to record some "wind" noises with my mouth by blowing at the mics, when i came to close and my beard started to crackle against them. Thunder storm: this is a very accurate and realistic thunder storm. The great clashes of thunder can be heard accompanied buy the rumbling of the storm. Wind blowing and swooshing paints a beautiful picture. The sharp lightning strikes are very prominent. Recorded with the zoom h6, rode ntg.
