This is a sound of mine that i made, it's a washing machine on a fast spin, it sounds rather like an old british style diesel train at speed. I used my canon power shot a460 camera video to film the washing machine in action and simply took the sound from the video. I tried to originally make the sound of a train speeding up in an 8-bit style, but it sounded more like the sound guardian scouts make in "the legend of zelda: breath of the wild" when they charge up their laser, so i renamed the sound. An express train of kintetsu railway passes by at rather high speed. Connecting my at835st to a newly purchased edirol r-44. I actually bought it for need of recording four channels of drums sound, but i was completely astonished by its great ability as a field recorder. Wonderful mic preamps, aren't they?.

Recorded 6/7/13 with tascam dr-07 mk ii. I don't know the exact location, it could have been 1 of 2 places. Park ridge illinois or new york city manhattan.

The microphones are facing across the street to the el tracks which cross diagonally across the block at this point. The curvature of the tracks causes the squeaking of the wheels. Trains heading into the loop (north) tend to travel more slowly than those heading south. Cars accumulate at the intersection of harrison and wabash to the south (left). Time of recording was 5:41pm.
