Boxcars creaking as the train begins to move from standstill. Recorded far from the engines so no roar to drown the pure metal creaking sounds. Some wind noise -- one bump right at the start -- recorded on a very windy day.

A recording of a close pass by an inter-city (fairly fast) train. It was recorded about 5m away from where the train passes. There are some birds singing and the low hum is from the electricity pylons that run overhead.

After the train has gone by, the train can be head in the distance. (sound was recorded using a mzr-700 md recorder and a sony ecm-ms907 microphone).
