This a recoding of an arc welding machine being used to make electric sparks. Gear used: neumann ku100 dummy head, schoeps cmc 5u mk8, schoeps minicmit, zaxcom maxx.

Fake electricity, as opposed to the real kind available in any household outlet.

This is a 36 inch/. 9 meter jacobs ladder made from a neon sign transformer, recorded from the side so the sound of the arc pans right to left. Easily editable to loop. 60hz feed here.

An outdoor recording (although it sounds otherwise) of an idling train engine. Includes electric spark-like clicking and a slightly muffled alarm. Not a subway car or an electric powered locomotive or trolley, but the clicks are similar to that produced by an arc welder.

I was walking my dog next to a highway, which was elevated thirty feet above me. Thinking to record traffic i turned on my recorder. Suddenly a thrown beer bottle arced across the sky and smashed on a rock embankment, not ten feet from me. One might record a better bottle break, but this one was quite immediate, and thus, short.

This is a tesla coil with a discharge that sounds muck like an old style 'stick' arc welder. For the technical it is a tesla coil that uses a static spark gap, while high-voltage-discharge-2 clip uses a rotary gap giving a different sound altogether. Recorded at a display i did at kew museum london in 2012.

A diesel train flushing out the condensation from a particular valve, as i am told. Sounds like electricity sparking or something. It was quite loud, my gain was set extremely low, enough that i didn't pick up any of the road traffic with cars passing a few feet behind me. The sound of sap from a 40 year old sugar maple tree in southern illinois, dripping into a plastic bucket. After a long, dark, dreary winter, this sound is a sure sign that the earth in the northern hemisphere is slowly coming back to life. Sound recorded on january 11th, 2017 in southern illinois. Equipment: zoom f4microphone audiotechnica bp4025 stereo microphone.

Summer afternoon sounds at denver, colorado's union station water sculpture plaza, with children playing. Sitting and facing to the southeast, toward the center of water installation, with its alternating flying arcs of water. Recorded at 24/96 using a sound professionals ms-tfb-2 binaural mic set with 12vdc battery box and a sound devices mixpre-6. Initially uploaded as redbook audio, but the 96khz seems to have the best spatial clarity and so i'm resubmitting this now without that downsampling step, for those who download.

This is a recording of two gretsch catalina maple floor toms, one 14 inches in diameter, one 16 inches. I replaced the original tom feet with pearl air suspension feet, which gave a huge improvement in tone, resonance and sustain. Recorded with a sony ecm-ds70p stereo recording microphone into an iriver h340 mp3 player. Normalized in sony sound forge.

Hey!. I've made this for a friend's project. But the project is now stalled, so i decided to release my work to the world. The sound is created with multiple layers of zynaddsubfx digital synthesizer. Sequenced and rendered using lmms. This was my first serious attempt at creating high-quality game sounds. I've spend quite some time refining and adding detail to the sounds, so they are rich and convincing. I hope this is a production at top level, that could be used in a commercial motion picture. Have i reached my goal?. If you want to use them, you'll need to edit it by yourself :). It comprises a dry recording of a male voice reading the following original text describing a moment from a dream:. "this is a story about dreams. It is not about a specific dream, or rather while it takes place in one dream it is about many. From time to time in my dreams i am in a city. Not a particular city, like paris or chicago, but the events of the dream happen in a setting which includes tall buildings and crowded streets and views of the sun setting behind a busy skyline. One time, while having such a dream, i was standing on an arcing bridge over a body of water like a river or canal. The late afternoon sun was to my left, and the warmth of the sunlight contrasted with the cool breeze off the water. As i looked across the curving expanse of water, i was mesmerized by the bright reflections of the sun on the water, on the glass of the windows, across this expansive space. I realized with a start that i recognized a cluster of buildings across the way. I had seen them before, in another dream. In that dream i had been a different person. Rather, in most all of my dreams i am in some way myself, but entangled in a moment from some other life, surrounded by characters and pursuing concerns that are alien to my waking being. In that moment, in this dream, i came to understand that all my dreams that happen in a city are happening in the same city, the same geography and architecture holding dozens of episodic lives i may have between sleeping and waking.
