This is the sound of the broken fan at the bathroom in my friends house. It sounds a lot like a cricket, but i can assure you it’s a machine- once again this was straight off my phone so sorry if the quality is pretty bad. I hope this can still be of use to you. You don’t need permission but i would like to know if anyone does use it, just for the sake of curiousity :).

A lone cricket appeared in my room, so i decided to record it before letting it out. Small chirping for about a minute. There is a light amount of background noise, since i decided not to do noise reduction myself and just leave it raw, since i didn't want to distort the cricket sound.

Walking on an old dirt road on a summer night, i stopped to record the sound of the bushcrickets. As i searched for this sound before on freesound but wasn't satisfied with the results, i thought i'd share it with you. Found this air vent on a location shoot. The vent was making a strange chirping noise. . . Like an alien cricket. Recorded with a tascam dr680 and sennheiser mkh-416.

Perhaps one of the most peaceful sound----a lone cricket singing his pure, melancholy chirp. Enjoy!. I recorded this with my marantz pmd661 -- performance enhanced by oade brothers of georgia --- and my rode ntg2 shotgun microphone.

All complaints about the sound quality must be addressed to british gas… they are used to getting strange complaint and i don't want them. You either want to use this recording, or you don't, don't bother writing to me telling me why you don't like it.

I made this wonderful recording in july 2011 at about 9:00 at night on a hot, muggy july evening. This is the time of year when the insect chorus can get very, very loud. Pretty amazing volume for such small insects. The really loud ones seem to reside in the trees and not on the ground. Recorder used: zoom h4n recorder using its built-in stereo microphones.

By mid-september a lot of the migrant songbirds have left southern illinois, along with their songs. But, the insects and their choruses abound. This recording made on september 21st, 2012, in a clearing surrounded by heavy forest. Equipment: zoom h4n recorder and the microphone was the rode ntg-2 shotgun microphone.
