Recording i made in my yard at night of crickets chirping. Recorded on zoom ntg-3 microphone with zoom h6 recorder.

So there was an angry fly in my studio. What else does one do but run around, chasing it with your zoom h2.

Insects (i think mostly crickets) make this noise. It sounds so. . . Infernal!, or futuristic (electronic for sure). I recorded this (with my old zoom ii recorder) one summer night in tlacotlapan, at the southern mexican state of veracruz. All this happened for hours inside my hotel room. So you can imagine what kind of night i have. Wonderful memories.

My first recording with the zoom h5. I am beyond impressed with how clear the sound is. If you use it, i'd gladly watch how you use it. No pressure though. Enjoy! :).

This recording was made alongside a camera trap survey while at loagan bunut national park in sarawak, malaysia. It's a quite nice little bit that we didn't expect to ever find a use for, but came across this website and through i would share it. It lasts a good long time with pretty consistent sounds, so best wishes on it's use. Distressed cicada on the ground clicking or trilling very fast and loudly. The insect had dried and flown, apparently, but for some reason landed in the wrong area in the late afternoon on a very hot day.

The data contained in this file should represent a full period sine wave. But because of the bug(s) in the header of wave file, it gets distorted (i. E. If you found the bug and fixed it in binary, you'd get perfect sine wave).

A fly buzzing around. The thumps are the fly bumping into the wall and a lampshade. This file is dry, so there's some low-frequency garbage from my holding the mic and following the fly. A high pass at around 200hz fixes that. Feel free to use this for whatever you want. 100% public domain.
