This ambience sounds uncanny and rather other-worldly, like it was recorded in some unknown alien planet. Perfect for setting up creepy and intense moments in any of your horror media.

Space vehicle chase with sirens in scifi city. Imposcar & keysalpha2 patches, layered. Glideeffect in impocar used for pitching. The keysalpha (police sirens in the distance) is pitch-modulated with a fast lfo, and you'll find a fat chorus-effect there, an internal synth effect.

Still random frequency transformed with plugins. This time it's a saw waveform moduled by a sine lfo. Add a little of this and a little of that. Make me thing at a the sound of the rain on a strange planet!.

It's an all synthetized sound created on audacity. I wanted to recreat the sound of an ovni, but not one that makes people scared : like there is only one alien in this ovni but it seems pretty nice. I started by created a new audiotrack, then i generated chirps and keeping the default values. Then i duplicated the track and made a stereo track of both. I add wahwah effect on the track, changing and modulate the different default values (for example, highest dept and a lot of resonance). After, i add phaser affect on the whole track to make the sound a little bit more spacial. Then i normalized the track. Last, i raised the speed twice by 2. Then i saved and export my sound. ______________________________________________. D'après moi c'est un son répété formant un groupe tonique, au timbre harmonique acide,au grain lisse et dynamique.

I made this sound in september 2003 - i used a fairlight mfx 3 - a direct descendant of the first sampler ever made - and the best ever to this day editing software for ground breaking features and functions. Clip based eq and level which you could cross fade between made the use of automation almost redundant in precise to picture editing. It also had a unique alternative jog function. You could loop 1 frame or so as you chose of sound at the orginal pitch which made it easy to find transient points. I then 'grind' the play head over a solo'd sound and play this into a reverb unit. I have many of these accidental experiments and one day i shall make the fairlight pack!. Until then enjoy this alien - from mars with love :). Ps - you can do this experiment today! i found that i can use sound flower as an out put in audio finder. If you open a sample in the sample editor - you can recreate the fairlight jpg by grabbing the playback head in play. You may then route sound flower thru an input channel and get some unusual effects that are difficult to achieve. . If you can improve on this method let me know!.

These are a series of gunshots that are supposed to resemble a laser sort of weapon, like an alien weapon. To make this, i used a filter that has a vocoder, polyvox, and talkbox, with distortion added. The initial sound i'm making is a chirping with my mouth and the filter does the rest. I think this works well on its own but it should work well mixed in with another sound effect if you choose to mix it. There is no reverb added or environment effects so its very flexible. Feel free to use it however you like. Credit is appreciated but not necessary. If you do want to give credit, please give credit to cooljunk productions. Thank you.

Another of the recordings i did on my phone at work of a steel cable at tension between phone poles. Hitting it with a wrench and making laser sounds. Cleaned up in audacity as the other one was. One is better than the other but can't remember which one i liked the best. Use as you please. If you use it for something and have the time to tell me where it ended up, that's cool. The sound of a small dog (specifically, a miniature poodle) crunching and munching on cheese crackers with a good sound. This could be used for alien sounds, or any kind of munching. Or you know, if you have the need for a small dog eating crackers, go for it.

This is a recording of the sea-side. The wind noise was was difficult to remove (i hadn't used a wind shield for the microphone); so i decided to use it as part of a sound designed piece. I would use this as background for gaming or for radio drama; you may use it however you wish.

File i recorded while at work on a telephone pole. I found a span of the steel cable they string between the poles that hold phone lines or cable lines. But this was just the bare span and nothing touching it. If you hit them with a wrench they make weird laser gun sounds. Recorded with my phone and cleaned up a bit in audacity. Use as you please. A gregorian chant melody line with arpeggiated harmony played from digital keyboard into a music maker midi recording. I gave it a whirl with a vst synthesizer voice called men's cathedral, twirled lots of dials and this came out.

This is audio i recorded of my husband using his ten year old decrepit constant positive air pressure sleeping machine. I was trying to convince him that he needed a new one. The variety of sounds he and it managed to make is extraordinary. The intermittent beeping is the machine's warning sound. When i played it for him he cried laughing. I hope you find it useful for something. You'll be please to know his new machine is whisper quiet.

I rapidly pressed the fast forward and reverse buttons on a little cassette recorder while it was playing an old radio show from the 90s. One of the first fx recordings i ever did. Recorded with a samson c03u microphone, no processing.

Horror birds - morning birds recorded with h2n, cloned to 4 tracks in audacity, pitch shifted by various amounts and one of the tracks paul-stretched and sped up. Mixed down but then removed lower frequencies (wind or traffic rumble became too noticeable). Normalized. Here's the result.
