I tried out some new gear and methods! more mountainside rain! a complete storm from beginning to end with swelling and then waning rainfall, occasional thunder. Ms stereo bar on mic stand projected through open second-floor window, just under the roof eaves. Recorded july 20th during one of the mid-afternoon brief intense storms we can seem to get frequently in the rocky mountain foothills beginning around june. If you were listening and wondering, the direct sound of the thunder is somewhat occluded as i believe the storm was behind the overhanging roof and house from the perspective of the microphone array. The mountainous terrain and other objects in the field reflected some of that thunderclap, as well as the exterior wall of the home, and so this is all a little bit funky. Binaural recording made in the reading area of a well-known downtown denver bookstore. Various quiet sounds of human activity (and one espresso machine) lurk. Sound professionals ms-tfb-2 binaural microphone set, 12vdc battery box, sound devices mixpre-6, recorded at 24/96, normalized and downsampled to 16/44. 1 stereo in cooledit 2000.

Well. . . . . Field recording is a bit of a stretch this was recorded on my back porch in springfield mo usa in june of 2000. I used a minidisk and two pzm's and a home made spliter box that worked only if you never touched it. It was one in the morning to try and avoid most of the traffic. Rain starts about half way in. Enjoy.

The increasingly rare melody of the whipporwill. . . . Cricket frogs also. A wonderful summer soundscape, bringing back memories of days gone by. And, hopefully, a soundscape that will continue to add meaning to summer childhoods. So glad to hear this. Recorded in late june of 2017 using the sound devices 702 and the rode ntg-2 shotgun microphone.

This is a recording of a chainsaw engine running. I have slowed the speed and lowered the pitch and emphasised the bass. I have looped the track so it can be constantly running in the background if needed.

Street traffic during the afternoon, recorded from apartmentmono track, 24bit, 48khz. Recorded this with a shotgun mic and zoom f8. Location sound is south san diego, california. Traffic is at peak hour.
