Arturia's microbrute has a lot of facets and possibilities to use them.

Generic sci-fi drone. Created on a keyboard. Could be the sound of an alien vaporizing someone with some kind of ray/mind device. Or the sound of strange chemicals combining. Possibly a sudden super-dramatic character movement/drug freakout.

Sound is a bit of prepared guitar. . . The strings had some "twistie-ties" on them, and they were scraped/bowed with a screw driver near the bridge. Guitar was processed with delay, and i believe maybe some other effects. Sounds, at times, similar to a droning sitar.

Imagine you just landing on an unfamiliar planet, where the local on the planet is just some unpopulated area with a open wide field or jungle. You don't see any one, or anything, but either dust,trees, grass, or a vacant road. While your wondering through this place you also notice that that nightfall is approaching, and you can see the moon and the starts of this planet. This synth patch is just the sound for that, a drone bass synth patch used to create some imaginary audience feel that would lead you or someone to be driven to madness. This patch was made in massive.

Needs to be faded in, but otherwise it should properly loop. Created using cubase and retrologue 2. A simple patch exploring the vsti's multi oscillators. Two oscillators plus a bit of semi-random filter modulation.

This is a recording of very low frequency hum of a steel mill. The sample has been low pass filtered. The main frequency is about at 25hz. The sound was recorded some distance away of the steel mill area, where it mixed with other sounds as a constant hum, which could be felt in body too at certain spots.

My vfx synthesizer freaked out one day and started producing this sound on its own so i recorded it.

A lively chorus of droning insects and frogs, recorded with a pentax point-and-shoot waterproof camera in the dunes of tybee island, georgia on a wet summer evening. I think this track has a hypnotic and somewhat disorienting effect.

I played a staccato chord into a reverb unit with an infinite delay time. The signal from the reverb was sampled into an akai s612, looped and then resampled into the computer.

This is the unprocessed version of my "sci-fi ambient drone" upload. It's creative commons cc0, so please treat it as public domain. You can use it in any commercial or non-commercial media for free, no restrictions. I took a quick 8-second drum loop from my teenage engineering po-33 (ko) and ran it through a free time-stretching/pitch-shifting program called akaizer. This program is based on old samplers like the akai s1000 that had extremely artifact-heavy time-stretching and pitch-shifting features. If you slow a sound down enough, the final product tends to sound harsh and electric. Akaizer turned my 8-second drum loop into 2 minutes and 38 seconds of harsh, bassy noise, pretty damn close to the final. Enjoy :).

played live - getting some cool trippy sounds out of a little circuit i built. Jammin on the 60hz hum! i think my body was an acting as an antenna for that ubiquitous drone as i laid my hands on the device. Reminds me of certain early progpsy tunes, c. 1999. Just some throat sound i made today for no reason. Looking for some remixers, and also if anyone can tell me what exactly is this type of throat sound called? it's not really a sygyt, or a tibetan drone, is there a specific name for this type of sound, please let me know.

A very low frequency tone/drone made with the studiofactory software synth. It's a cross-mod of the perlin tone generator with a formant generator. This is about as low and loud as my current speaker/amplifier system allows. Use with care i. E. Turn down your playback systems output before you play it. Final mastering was done with audacity.
