A very loud and rumbly thunderstorm rolled through jefferson city, mo. I set up my zoom h4n with the mics set to 120 degrees to record the storm. Less than a minute after i started recording, a lightning bolt hit just across the street. A lot of loud and rumbly thunder in this audio clip.

Scary piano key hits with reverb used for a film project i just finished.

This sound is a pitched down recording of a metal knife striking the prongs of a metal fork. I added some reverb and adjusted the eq to make it sound like distant swords striking each other. This was used to simulate the ambient sounds of cutlasses in a pirate battle. In addition to clashing swords, this track could be adjusted to mimic the sounds of a blacksmith working at his anvil or flint and steel in lighting a fire, among other sound effects.

These are two examples of being punched and making a sort of "oof" noise when the air gets knocked out of you.

Wine glass, tuned with water, being hit with an improvised percussion stick made from chopstick and a piece of plastic. It's a recording of someone using a hammer on a different level of the house. You can hear the doors of a room being closed and opened from outside and some other noises. There is a background noise of a refridgerator working in the second room. Recorded with a zoom h2.
