This is a recording made on the morning of march 25, 2012 in greensboro, north carolina, usa, featuring a thunderstorm and plenty of birdsong. I recorded this as i thought it was a pretty interesting contrast at the time. This recording was made with an olympus ls100 and it's internal microphones behind a window screen.

Severe thunderstorm arrived to pécel, hungary after the hot days on 8th of july 2015. It produced 15 mm of very intense rain and wind, and some lightning.

Long easy rain. Recorded from my front porch the evening of may 22, 2018. Almost half an hour; slice it up to use your favorite parts. Rain slows down around 3:00. Some distant thunder around 16:20. Look out for a few small ambient noises like splashes or traffic. A perfect audio bed under your sound design of a rainy scene. Or layer it to create a storm.

This clip was taken indoor on a typhoon day. The typhoon signal number ten was effective at the time.

This is a recording of heavy downpour on the streets of a rural village in germany. The rain was also dropping down on a small metal roof not far away. Furthermore, there was some rumbling thunder going on in the distance from time to time, as well.

A big carton board was held by two people, and then shaken to produce the deep rumbling sound. Various ways of shaking and holding it, resulted in a very close thunder sound. A zoom h6 recorder, with the xy capsule was used to record it, inside of a classroom.

The peak and last big heave of a thunderstorm that rolled through greeley, colorado on may 7th, 2016. My gutters happen to be clogged, so a bunch of water was rolling out over the edges and onto the concrete patio behind my garage. 256kbps mp3 recorded with my soundblaster recon3di embedded laptop speakers and audacity 2. 1. 1.

Zoom h4n - onboard microphones. This recording was captured in the city of orange in orange county, california. This is located just below los angeles and less than a mile from disneyland in anaheim. This is an extremely clean recording of a sudden cloudburst that turned in to a torrential downpour on december 28, 2020. The peaks are all very close to 0db. I opened the sliding glass door to our balcony and placed my zoom h4n as close as possible to the rain without destroying the recorder. What resulted is an amazingly layered rain track. This is because rain can be heard striking multiple surfaces such as a tree, a metal table, the cement balcony, etc. . . There is not much thunder (that's rare in this area) but if you need a few dramatic thunder claps they can be found at the following times one the file is downloaded. A strong thunder storm passes over the island of bermuda in the atlantic ocean at 4:00am. Ten thunderbolts of varying intensity can be heard against a backdrop of falling rain and singing treefrogs. Useful for tropical sounding rain storm. Recorded with my handheld tascam dr-05 linear pcm handheld stereo recorder as a 24-bit wav file in october 2021.

This is the sound of gentle rain and distant thunder recorded from the roof in sussex on the 29-05-2017, this storm was very severe out in the channel and towards the east coast, but here it was a mainly soothing experience.

Recorded in watchet harbour in somerset, uk, a few hours before a huge storm hit the little town. The wind is whistling through the rigging on the masts of the boats in the harbour, producing an eerie whine. Recorded with an sennheiser me-66. Mono.

This sound was taken with zoom h4n recorder. Location: meylan, france, in the alps. The town is situated near a 300. 000 inhabitants city, in a valley surrounded by moutains. Description : rain is pouring louder and louder, rolling thunder strikes periodically, exploding like a gunshot or echoing from one moutain to another. (i'm afraid at one point, the sound of a music from a video game played by neighboors was recorded, but apart from these few seconds, this sound is cool ;))hope you'll find it helpful.
