Three mornings. Well. . . About 7 to 8 a'clock. Somewhere on the island tjörn, sweden. It's quiet mornings, or just bad timing. One of them a little windy. There are more birds earlier and later. Guess they are taking a nap around 8 in the morning. Recorded with a zomm h1. No editing. I just joined the files, well shorted them also. . . April 29april 30maj 1. First real test of my h1.

H4zoom recodered (place: quebrada de here, toconao, andes mountain on north of chile) processed with sound studio (normalize to 0db). I work in documentary and fiction films in chile. These small sound clips i made while accompanying friends to make hands-free climbing on a small creek near toconao south of san pedro de atacama. They like to play drums to quench anxiety. Was in october 2012.

The only way to get good classroom ambiance is to record it in a classroom. That's exactly what this is. Recorded in a classroom as the students were studying and the teacher was quietly walking around. You'll hear a few random noises, some papers shuffling, some very muffled dialog, an air conditioner in the background.

A particular insect, maybe a grasshopper doing this sound which i use as background atoms instead of the typical cricket. Recorded stereo on zoom h4 on board mics, i edited it to remove some of the hiss.

I got into a small crawl space under a concrete road, which seemed to be an old sewage tunnel, and recorded the sound of a car driving overtop of me. It's a gentle rise and fall of a car engine. You can hear me let out my breath as the car drives away.

This sound was made by mixing several freesound sounds alongside a recording i did of my girlfriend and a few friends chatting at different volumes to make a completely new and realistic sound. This, my dear friend, is ils - infinitely loud silence. Play some other sounds and then play this, and you'll know why i call it this way. It's created by a bug present in lmms, a free program for electronic music production. Actually this sample can't reproduce the ils phenomenon, that creates a dc offset so big, that it outnumbers any other signal getting out of the same audio interface and the result is silence. It's a silence that is masking other sounds. Mind-boggling. Nasty bug. All this sound can do is cause some distortion, probably because 24-bit sound can be only as loud as 0db. 32-bit floating point should be able to get louder, but still i don't think any sample file would be able to reproduce this product of error.

This a free, 10 minute demo of extremely high quality silence. It is stereo and has a high (96000) sample rate, and is probably the best quality silence sample around. Some noises of the restaurant can be heard in the background, very subdued, the quiet lapping of the east river can be heard in the foreground, and manhattan bustle and traffic on the fdr drive is in the wide range.
