Ever wandered through a spanish street market? the sound will be familiar to — very possibly all too familiar! this recording was made so close to the offending mechanical toy, that it has even picked up the noises of the mechanism itself. There is a small amount of background noise. Seemingly unnecessary period of silence included is the exact cause before the next outburst of squeaking. These recordings were made at the annual "tag der sachsen" (saxony fair) in freiberg. Recordings were done on the main market square (obermarkt), where a local radio station had set up a large stage for concerts and other events. This is the early morning after the event, at about 7. 30, stage hands are taking down the rigging, workers are clearing away trash and loading trucks.
